It's the international break, I'm allowed.
For the life of me, I can't understand why Jamal has got some of the stick he's got over this past 5 months. Apart from that one mistake against QPR, in which he got injured as he landed meaning he lost grip of the ball, he has been faultless and had conceded 3 goals at home in the league. Imperious record for a young lad who's been playing in League 2 for the past year.
I must admit at the time I thought... This is risky. Good competition, but he's only just been playing in League 2, nowhere near good enough to be our number 1. I was very very wrong.
But for some reason people wanted Moore to replace him even before that... some saying he should've done better with Hooper's goal for Wednesday was the point I realised our fans know absolutely fuck all or feel some sort of connection with Moore.
Moore came back on saturday... was beaten by a long range punt at goal. Jamal I highly doubt would've been beaten, he really should have saved it.
He also dropped a ball in the box which had it not been for our defenders quick reactions might have been a goal, and hesitated when Jake Wright was trying to usher him out to collect the ball in the second half and their player nearly nipped in because he stayed rooted to his line. Had Jamal done this - he would've been battered. And I don't like double standards at all, it's not reyt.
I'm not doing this to pit one against the other (even though that's exactly what I'm doing!) I just think we need to get it out in the open WHY some are so against Blackman, when for me the lad is our best keeper. Big, quick, good in the air and great in one on ones. That save against Brentford is still my favourite of the past few years.
So if you could guarantee an injury free run, who would be your number 1 for the rest of the season?
