I see that Brum have sold out their allocation for our game on the 25th. If that's the whole away end, then that's pretty impressive for a game live on Sky and several weeks away.

They also have a sizeable hooligan contingent and judging by their 'turnout' at Millwall a couple of weeks ago - see Birmingham Evening Post link below, then I'd guess there will be a lot of these coming to Sheffield on the 25th.

A 5.30pm Saturday game, with a large away following, many looking for bother - what could possibly go wrong?

From the link in Post #1:

Some supporters were subsequently late to Den due to being held up at the tube station.

"We didn't actually get into the ground until 20 minutes after kick off due to huge police presence at London Bridge," Blues fan Matt McDonough told the Birmingham Mail.

He continued: "My overwhelming feeling was that the whole thing was completely over the top."

Wait till you meet SYPD...

I have pals who follow Brum home and away, and one of them has told me that its the 35th anniversary of The Zulus and to expect trouble when they play us.We shall see.

Surely we have only given them the lower Lane End,i thought the days of handing over the entire Bramall Lane end were well and truly behind us?

I meant the whole of the lower tier ... 2500ish. Still not bad considering their league position and a live sky game. The 35th anniversary of the 'Zulus' may have something to do with them selling out so early.....

This moving kick off times to cut down on the potential drinking time of fans has become a joke.
Some of our local derbies have kicked off at 12.15 or 1.00pm but the pubs are open from 8.30am, then it's different altogether if Sky are televising the game and suddenly the supposed drinking and safety issues go out of the window, allowing 5.30pm kick offs.

It would seem they have got BLUT as well:

and - just to be on the safe side - SYPD have decided to create a DMZ for half the South Stand.

I remember the night game at Brum in 75,my terrible impression of somebody who resides in the local area, and my David Bedford type running power as i kept ahead of my pursuers until New Street station, that followed said rubbish impression

I don't get why they don't just open the upper tier and hold away fans back at the end. Millwall do that don't they?

April 1989 is my guess, they got it so wrong that day,we are still paying, and judging by the tram fiasco,SYP have not learned anything

If they’re shutting the upper tier, why not shut the lower and give them the upper, meaning they can have more tickets?

Name me a more inept police force. It's like tonight, they're putting us in the Leppings Lower on safety advice. It's an U23s game FFS.

Look out for 'Memries of Birmingham' which I'll post on Wed. 22nd Nov. That's my abiding memory as well...

The Zulus were very much 'alive and well' on 29th April 1975 - 42 years ago.

Very hard to judge. Based on my personal experience at Millwall, I'd say if you weren't there it'd be difficult to decide if that was aggro caused by Brum fans, or the Met being dickheads.

Anyway it'll all be fine. We've got a handy steel wall and I trust the SYP to make sure everything runs smoothly...

From our official site....
Please note: All areas of the ground including the Westfield Corner and Redbrik Upper Tier are available for this game to home supporters. Visiting supporters will be allocated the Redbrik Lower

It’s also kid for a quid on that day

Kids for a quid and a game which anyone who's got a modicum of intelligence knows is going to be tasty...

Think I'll be leaving the boy at home. Anyone want to borrow his ST?

I'm sure someone on here said that United are holding back the ticket for the upper tier until everywhere else is sold out. I might be wrong though
