It wasn't just Clarke

Yes, Fleck had a good game, as did Clarke and Wright. Basham found things difficult and wasn`t at his best; and Stevens wasn`t quite as good as his, so far, high standard. Hull have some decent players and plenty of pace. They are an almost certain banana skin for any team not "at it". So excellent result and good solid performance.
Agree on all counts, they will go on a run , possibly with a new manager and finish top 8.
Great result today, thrilled to bits.

I think they could go either way. They probably need an experienced UK manager to bring stability, then who knows ? Think that defensively they have the same frailties as Leeds.

I thought we missed Baldock...Bash looked awkward at Wing Back for me...a bit fish out, especially first half.
Moore looked at fault for the goal, and a bit hesitant at times.
Duffy,Fleck and Coutts stepped it up 2nd half and we're class, along with JOC,Stevens and King Leon.
Atmosphere was flat first half, but a lot better 2nd...Hull fans were even quieter.
Great reception for Leon when subbed...like CW said...not heard a reception for a player like that for a long time at the Lane.

And don't doubt how much difference the Kop finally waking up made.

Right at the start of the second half I noticed how much louder the kop was, right from the off, commented on it to the bloke next to me. It did make a difference I'm convinced. And they were pretty good first half TBH.

Kop was loud IMHO. Bit slow to get up the decibel levels due to the unusual start, but pretty impressive from the RGS. (Retired Gentlefolk Stand sponsored by Shackletons).

Whenever the holy trinity are playing in midfield we will cause problems. Keep them 3 fit and we might just be the real deal .

Our, Best, Law, and Charlton

I've spent the last ten years going round the ground and when we're talking about the noise it's always the kops responsibility, the point is it shouldn't be, there are three other stands (now) who can help out with the atmosphere, the kop have been noisy all season (Barnsley was quiet for a bit) if you sit on here then you can have an opinion in my book, but I've sat on all the other stands and it's been very quiet, so sing up with us or shut up about the kop, we will only hear the other stands make anywhere the same noise when that lot turn up in January, and only if we're winning...

I hope we sang loud enough today so all the quiet ones had a great atmosphere to enjoy....
On the BLUT, silence reigns. You shout when a goal goes in and paying adults gawp at you like you just landed from Mars. That's where we are at.

Thanks for the motivation. Every little helps.

then you should know their lad hit it into the ground and it had vicious top spin on it.. basically it was a fluke
Got fuck all to do with what I said, I didn't realise he hit it into the ground, and I haven't heard that from anybody else either but Moore was in the right position, he got to the shot but he let the ball go straight over the top of him, he seemed to get his hand to the ball but it was weak, people around me all thought he had saved it, also look at his reaction afterwards and the players looking at him especially Leon, I wasn't having a go at Moore just an observation, he was right behind it, 9 times out of 10 a formality for any goalkeeper

I thought Billy was superb throughout today! A real captains performance.
UTB!

Then you’re easily pleased. He was slow both physically and mentally. Quite how his performance could possibly be labelled “superb” I know not. It wasn’t. It wouldn’t have been described as such in relation to any other player, either.

I like Sharp a lot, but not as much as I dislike disingenuously adjustable standards.

Baldock is a tremendous addition for us , game though Bash is, RB clearly isn't his best position. We did lack balance , certainly first half.

Fleck was different class. I always say that but it's true, he's the one player I'd hate to lose, above all the rest. He's the real deal. Him and Brooksy.
And Jack.

But not the guy who is absolutely pivotal to our Tuftyball? Surprising.

Jamal to come back in when fit. He’s very good. Far better than the numpties who are ‘waiting for an error’ like to think. I like Moore a lot, but he got an obvious hand to that shot and should have done better. Obviously we should make allowances for his absence and consequent rustiness.

Right now, I’m happier with the big fella between the sticks.

Taking their ages in to account , I'd say Fleck, Brooks and JOC represent our ' crown jewels', in terms of resale value if nothing else. Coutts pivotal role in the team is obviously significant.

That said ,our players of the season thus far are Clarke, Duffy and for getting us up and running, Lord William of Ecclesfield.

Basically, I love em all.

I appreciate what Ricky is trying to do for the atmosphere getting people to move there, but I was up there Saturday & it was like the family stand!

Best view in the ground but no noise. Rightly or wrongly I shout & swear (can’t help myself) but even when I called their player a diving twat I was berated by 2 different people.

I shall be heading for the Kop again when I’m back over

I hope you told them they're at a fucking football match. Can't be doing with people who feel they have an automatic right to preach the second they hear a 'swear word'.

That area can't be allowed to become another Family Stand. What a waste that would be.

The recent publicity might have played a part in getting more fans up there but there's been no organised gathering yet.

Another huge nail in the coffin for Hoof, thank Pele.

Parts of S2 descend into deep despair.

If only you'd chucked some of those straw men on some of ther local bonfires last night. There's more than enough to ensure they'd all still be burning well today.

Only in S2 eh?

Hasn't the"straw man" argument simply become a straw man, or is it just fashionable like the "number 10" role( originally inside left)?

No way!

There are factories in China busily assembling straw legions by the thousand for shipment to Sheffield. There are currently 20,000 stacked in the Hole in the Road (which was never filled in and preserved for this purpose). Like Zombies of the night, they wait dormant for the call from their master; 'Pinchy the Great' to descend on Bramall Lane and chant 'Gerit forrud'. Then like Ming the Merciless but different, Pinchy can order them away, beautiful football will be restored and we will be forever grateful to his Higness Pinchy of Page Hall.

And as usual the kop gets a sarcastic mention. Been brilliant all season, I know cos I sit on it, you may need a hearing test.

Looks pretty good on that between John Street stand and Kop camera behind the goal too.

pommpey

Easily pleased maybe, disingenuous nah! UTB!

Duffy was outstanding yet again. Fleck and O'Connell also excellent.

It was a very good second half performance. We completely took over in midfield.

You're right but you can't take mom away from Clarke. I mean scoring the first like that is so difficult. Thought the 2nd looked a bit offside but you win some and lose some, he still had to finish it. ditto the 4th with the rebound. Could have more, still not sure how he missed that header. Anywhere else and the goalie would have stood no chance

He also said with great emphasis “we will not just bang it”. He repeated it again later.

The parts in your imagination ?
