These 2 are the worst central midfield pairing i have seen at any level, anywhere, EVER

its so bad its untrue, quinn runs around like a headless chicken, then just trys to flick on anything that comes his way

neither of them seem to be able to make simple passes

i know you lot on here will come on and defend them, because thats what you do, but there are better players at the club for this position!!!

also webber is just total shit, how did he miss that chance, thats 2 sitters in 2 games now

all the good work done in recent games to get us into a great position, then they throw it away against blackpool at home

Anywhere, ever? That's rubbish. You can't seriously tell me they are worse than in the Conference, or sunday league pub football, or Subbuteo men with no arms. They weren't brilliant tonight by any means, but to call them the worse ever is ridiculous.

Whilst I wouldn't play them together at the moment, you can't have seen many if that's the case.

He does at the moment, with the addition of working hard off the ball. It's not all he's done all season though, after his initial bad start he had a run of games playing well and scoring goals. At the moment, I'd replace him with O'Toole.

They both can successfully make a range of passes, this doesn't mean they are immune to mistakes or struggling to find men when no-one is in space.

I assume your basing tonight's criticism of Monty on the 2/3 bad passes he made in the second half? What about the number of times in the first where he was playing the ball about first time and every time it reached a Blades shirt?

What about all the times Morgan, Killa, Naughton and Cotts wasted the ball to equal if not worse effect?

i know you lot on here will come on and defend them, because thats what you do, but there are better players at the club for this position!!!

I thought many were very harsh on Webber tonight. He made some very intelligent runs and some good play in the first half. Granted, he made a few bad decisions and should have scored, but I didn't think he was half as bad as some make out. I'd still say Jamie Ward has probably done enough to oust him.

So you'd swap the midfield from your sunday league side for Quinn and Monty? If the sunday league players were capable of playing at Championship level then they wouldn't be sunday league players. Even blind players look good when playing in the blind league, but sunday league players in the Championship? Do me a favour.

Did the problem not lay elsewhere perhaps... Quinn covering for a wide player who was missing?

I'm only playing devil's advocate of course... but when a player is drawn out, often it is to cover for one of their teammates who has gone wandering. Because the covering player then has his position exposed, he gets the stick from people who fail to read the game properly and want to attribute blame wherever they can.

To catch teams, would be improving our position, not consolidating it. We missed an opportunity tonight for sure, but like I said, we are hardly throwing the position away. We actually climbed into 4th.

You are right, the chance won't come every week, but it's not been thrown away yet. Everyone is stuttering and very few are consistently taking opportunities. Very little has changed since 5pm tonight!

I don't understand this black and white mentality some people have.

A footballer simply has to be "amazing" or "shit" to some people.

Why can't players just have good or bad games?

Brian Howard had a good game at Charlton, but has played poorly since. Doesn't make him amazing... doesn't make him shit. Just means he isn't playing to his potential.

David Cotterill wasn't playing well, in my opinion, at the start of the season. I didn't say he was shit, because he showed at the end of last season that he wasn't. I just said I didn't think he was playing well. These past few games, he's turned it around. Doesn't make him shit... doesn't make him amazing.

I think it's counter-productive to be so reactionary to a disappointing result. Some people go off alarmingly when we lose or draw, but are never to be seen around here when we play well or win. I think that rather negates their points slightly... fair enough be a doom-mongering manic depressive... but be a little more subtle about it!

Name me a single regularly playing professional footballer that misplaces only 1 pass a season. They aren't robots and they have the disadvantage of another team attempting to stop them doing what they want.

You are changing your mind. You started by this thread by saying they were the worst you have seen at any level, anywhere, ever.
So from that I presumed you meant that others were better. That's what "worst" means, that there are better ones.
So if you are now saying that the sunday league players couldn't play in the Championship then that also goes that Monty and Quinn aren't the worst you have seen, at any level, anywhere, ever. Thus rendering this thread totally redundant.
Unless you are changing your mind again, and sunday league players are indeed better than Quinn and Monty? In which case you should get on to McCabe about a scouting job, what with your unerring ability to spot players.

If you think that Quinn and Monty were bobbins tonight, and I certainly thought that they were both poor, then why not say that?
To say that they are "the worst ever" is ridiculous. Bad tonight, yes. The worst ever? Peru in 1978. Rotherham when we beat them 5-0. The Dog and Duck circa 1994. All terrible. But Monty and Quinn, the worst ever? If they are truly the worst anyone has ever seen then they can't have watched much football in their life.
