Ken Furphy. Played Leeds and no idea what the score was. Just remember thousands of them on our kop. Then a long queue of them pitch side to be treated by St Johns ambulance when the blades came in just before kick-off.

Wow,never knew that. And I came back for more. Can't really remember it apart from getting dropped off outside Bri n Irene's

If it was that game in 1987, Billy McEwan was the manager. McEwan was sacked after the 0-5 home defeat on January 2nd 1988 and then Bassett was appointed after we'd beaten Bournemouth 2-1 on the 16th January 1988.

Fucking Happy Harry Fucking Haslam was in charge for my first game, 1-1 v Hull, 19th January 1980. Dutch pornstar, Len De Goey, scored our goal.

Howard Kendall. First match was 10th September 1996, 3-0 home win against Chris Kamara's Bradford City.

John Harris. April 4th 1982. Man U scored a late equaliser in a 1-1 draw. Currie was out injured

Fair enough re manager. I'd have been 8 so would be about right as I was at junior school.

John Harris, it would have been 1964 but I got taken to reserve games at the lane and County Cup matches before the first team games so frustratingly can't remember my first league game.

John Harris night match millwall at home 2-0 or 2-1 lane end 71 promotion season ,brilliant.

Joe Mercer 1956.My first game was at a home against Stoke City Reserves in the old Central League.Dont recall the score.I had just moved from rural Shropshire and went to a school briefly at I think Hunters Bar.In the same class was Joes son David.

Home : Joe Mercer, big win against Charlton Athletic, think it was his last game as manager
Away : John Harris,Scunthorpe United at the Old Show ground,a draw i think, went on a football special train

.....when you saw the Blades for the first time?
For me it was John Harris in a home game v Newcastle. 2-0 down ,i think and won 3-2 with a late Tony Wagstaffe penalty. Hooked for life!
I remember this game, quite a turn around,i was walking past the cricket pavilion on my way home when the winner went in !!

John Harris, not sure of the year, 71/72,? It was the promotion year from Division 2. Blades 3 Oxford 0. Hooked for life, I will never forget the first time i saw the pitch and stadium when I came up the steps at the Bramall Lane upper tier end as a 9 year old. Thanks Uncle Sid !
