There are times in your life when you think you are witnessing something a bit different.

This team is certainly that.

We have just won at Elland Road. A month ago we won at Hillsborough. We are top of the league (albeit having played before everybody else this weekend). We beat Barnsley at Bramall Lane.

All our nearest rivals beaten, and beaten because we were actually better than them, not
because of any stroke of luck.

There are times in your life when you just really love a team.

The Germans really loved their 1966 world cup side. They lost in the end, but the Germans really loved them, probably more than their more recent and successful sides. And in football that happens. There are sides that supporters love, even if they don't win anything. It's something to do with the attitude of the side. The way they play and the way they make you feel

I feel a bit like that with the current Blades side.

I will forever remember this side with a great fondness regardless of whether or not we go up again.

With about 5 mins to go last I said to Revolution jr that whilst of course I really wanted to win, I wouldn't be too sad if they equalised, because this team is giving me so much pleasure in the way they play and compete it's hard to get angry with them.

Happy times.

By the way, has anyone else noticed that (Reading excepted) we seem to be seeing our close games with so little drama? It's certainly better on the nerves.

Chris Wilder is a genius how he has set up this team never in my days have I seen centre half’s playing as bloody wingers, JOC in particular overlapping Stevens to cross into the area, Basham strolling out of defence with such skill and authority.
Opposition managers and ultimately their teams just don’t know how to counteract it.
I’ve always loved supporting this time, but this is different, Orgasmic!

Wilder only deals in promotion, Thought we had a good shot at start of the season, really fancy us now though, not only winning the big games but literally playing some beautiful football at times aswell, they really are a joy to watch. All we have to is carry on this like we have done for a year and auto promotion is nailed on. Special times. UTB

I was saying similar just after they equalised. Enjoying the football, won’t be upset if we lose after coming so far knowing we’ll be right back at it Tuesday night, but genuinely believing we’ll go and find another goal.

My dad was whinging about the defending for the goal, I said it was just a lucky break of the ball and I’d rather see us scoring well worked goals (as we do so often) than being lucky. He just said goals count no matter how you score them. I felt so positive about the team and the match and everyone was telling me to calm down and not be so angry!

Said it in another thread last weekend, this is the most United we've been in my lifetime. Not a single player (to our knowledge) causing issues, no wrangling in the board room, a manager (and staff) all 100% together, the fans 100% together, great football, winning football.

We all know there's a bad run around the corner, it's inevitable and will be interesting to see how everyone reacts if/when that happens but for the moment, enjoy the ride, it doesn't get much better :)

Although I agree with you that this team is special. CW and AK seem to have done the exact same thing at Northampton first time round!

For us it’s once every 10+ years for CW it seems to be he only needs a few transfer windows to do it.

Simple, all they have to do is work out a way they can get 13 players on the pitch without the ref noticing.

Dunno bout that.
Donaldo must get the nod before him.
There's not many teams we need to play hoof against.
Donaldson must be close, but an FA Cup game or two for Hanson to get him up to speed and maybe bringing him on games when they're tight and we're having to lump it a bit might change the dynamic

As a Brentford fan still smarting from what I thought was a slightly unlucky defeat at Bramall lane on the opening day of the season I just want to tip my hat (proverbial) to the Blades.

What a team you are. I do not think I have seen so much positivity, lack of fear, attacking intent and sheer determination to win and not be overawed by the big names in the opposition.

You certainly have good players throughout the team but the whole is far greater than the individual parts.

You are on a roll and the momentum is with you given that you have the winning habit.

I was fortunate enough to briefly meet Chris Wilder with Bob Booker after the Brentford match and he is an enormously focused, determined, intelligent and indeed, honest and pleasant man.

You are in excellent hands and I see this season being a triumph for you. The only question is how you cope with more injures and the inevitable bad spell but I am confident that you will come through it.

Well done and I have really enjoyed watching you play.
