Interesting comments on tactics. I still think the formation that (theoretically, anyway) negates ours is 4-3-2-1 with the '2' running in behind the wing backs.

Mostly reasonable comments to be fair.
Think this one could go either way but I just hope the Blades can continue their excellent performances.

Would it be fair to say that our hatred of them is not equally reciprocal? Controversial perhaps, but I'm guessing our dislike comes from :

Look Leeds (North)
Calendar (Leedscentric)
Any other regional sports TV programme that usually fawns over anything they do and generally ignores anything that happens outside of Leeds.
The Revie era team of dirty cheating bastards.
Their fans reputation, which of course is a minority, but that minority have made themselves very well known with countless incidents over the years.
We always sell our best players to them.... and they sold us Vinnie, but we did get Bobby Davison too.

So I reckon if you asked the average Leeds fan, they wouldn't be too bothered about us, in the same way we are not bothered about Barnsley, Chesterfield or Rotherham fans not liking us. I think they probably hate Man Utd more?

Opinions...................?

They seemed quite 'bothered' when they were gobbing on women and children during 'that' Easter dubbing in the Bassett promotion season.

Agree. I’ve known more than a few Leeds fans over the years. And none of them have been too interested in us.

Our passion for the fixture seems to have diminished too. I remember in the 80’s, the kop would be singing ‘ we all hate Leeds and Leeds and leeds’ for weeks prior to the fixtures against them.

Like I said "countless incidents over the years".
I remember that and Gannon's missus getting hit by a missile at the same game and I was at Bramall Lane when they ripped the seats out and chucked them on the pitch in 1985.

At least we don't get treated any differently to any other visiting fans.

Many of those seats ended up getting thrown from the BLUT onto their own fans below. Very dim.

I still laugh when people talk about the Leicester result.

Obviously I don't have to explain it as we all know why we lost but i'm still going to anyway as it's making me laugh as i'm typing this

1) They're in the premier league and still had top players in the team, including Damari Gray who was on fire
2) We were playing our "2nd team"
3) We were playing with players who needed to regain fitness and most players weren't even at 75%

We aren't even ashamed of losing 4-1 to Leicester because they are a good team, and we weren't bothered about the cup and just wanted to support our team as the players regain fitness.

But yeah if it gives him a bit of confidence to beat us then fine by me. He needs to be a bit more open minded though - it's a game of football. Anything can happen

“Friday is going to be a cracker. Sell-out, under the lights, two teams on top form. Expecting ecstasy & agony in equal measure”

Say no more Rodders, say no more.

The only player of ours they mentioned was our Billy, maybe after Friday they'll be mentioning Coutts,Duff, and Mr.Fleck.
Plus no mention of the Brookster !
Seems all a little laid back from them !
:)

I read a quote from one L**ds fan on one of their forums, which said that Paul McShane was pressing for a recall to our team having nearly scored as a sub last Saturday. Hard to believe, especially when they played Reading at Elland Road in their last home match.

This, mainly, I reckon; Currie, Jones, Sabella, Deano- a pretty good list. I'll leave Beesley & Pembo off it.

It's one of the ways that Warnock showed he really 'got' our club when not only did he go after their better players- Hulse, Kilgallon etc, but also really rubbed in the fact that (at that time) we could take what we wanted from them, it was such a reversal of previous history.

There is also a real edge to Elland Road. Whilst people upthread were joking about being scared of the atmosphere, it is one ground where the pulses do race a little (not that many that you'd say that about). A pig at work said Elland Road was one of only two times he'd been genuinely scared at a game (the other was at the Lane when he was on the BLLT and Blades were chucking things at them from above). I haven't been for years, but am still expecting it to be lively tomorrow, and won't be taking the p on the way out.

What about Gary Hamson
