Home kit ?

I've been watching the Blades longer than I care to remember and, in my opinion, the current home kit is the best I've ever seen. Somehow, every player wearing it seems bigger, stronger and more intimidating than in any other kit we've ever worn.

Just as importantly, it looks like a proper Blades kit that those of us who have been watching the Red and White Wizards down the years can relate to, rather than some of the truly awful stuff that previous administrations have had us playing in.

One of the worst examples for me was the totally insipid shit that Negative Nige had us playing in when he was in the process of turning us into the poor man's Derby County, who he clearly thought were MASSIVE and someone who we couldn't even dream of emulating.

Well, Sir Christopher Wilder soon gave the lie to that none sense but I would be interested to hear the thoughts of other Blades on this subject.

I appreciate that for commercial reasons, clubs in the modern era change kits every year but I would like to think that next years outfit for us will be as close as possible to the existing one, which, as as a player, must be an absolute joy to pull on.

I think it might be. Has to be up there surely.

It's the nicest kit I think since the 90's, as Flawed said this

is a cracker and the Avec striped one is nice, and the lace up Laver Umbro job is another favourite, two of which have the black bordered stripes which I think is what makes this one so great.

Works from a design point of view but also in that it reminds you of so many great kits, 97-99, 92-94, 75-79, the bordered stripes really make us stand out too.

I think going forward we'll be keeping this stripe formation, larger stripes, black borders, just on whatever Adidas or whoever has that year, and looking back in a few years, this kit will be up there as one of the greats, and one of the really popular ones that you'll still be seeing at the Lane 10,15, 20 years down the line.

I sit near an older bloke that always wears the 90-92 kit, I'll probably be the older bloke wearing that old 17/18 kit at the back of the New New South Stand in 2044

Know what you mean about it making us look strong too, think it's the way the stripes and arms meet, strong differential between them, makes the shoulders and chest naturally seem bigger, and it's a slimmer cut I think. And our players are pretty hench to be fair to them, the only fat you'd get on Billy is if he was smuggling a block of lard in his socks, he's huge. Wouldn't mess with JOC or CCV either haha

I'ts a good kit for sure, just wish it could be add free cos I'm not into 'door deals'all that much, cheapens whole thing in my opinion.
I would like to see the old pure red and white striped shirt make a comeback.....love that look.
As for making the team more imposing If you see it like that it's ok but I think they are that good they could even where a blue
away kit

Like the present kit. To be honest I have rather lost track we have has so many over the years but for me we should always have a kit which is "propah" red and white stripes by which I mean the type we wore in the sixties and seventies before all this changing the shirt every season came in. That is pretty much that the stripes should be the same width and not too wide and not too thin. Plus we should always have black shorts. I am not too fussy about the socks. As long as they are some combination of red, white and black.

As long as it has red and white stripes then it’s ok by me. it’s just a strip not a fashion accessory !

This season we have the best home kit ever and the best away kit too!

Even the third kit is quality!

This thread is .... well... just a bit....ahem “ girlie”. DONT PANIC DONT PANIC!!

Saw a lad wearing the 2012/13 shirt last Saturday - that was a 9.5/10 for me, just can't quite decide whether I'm into the centralised badge or not

Why can’t I work out who that is wearing it?

Might it also be that this is the biggest, strongest and most intimidating United team you have ever seen? I can't help remembering that we were warned that players like Duffy and Fleck were good technicians but faded to the extent that they couldn't play a full 90 mins in the pub league. 18 months under the current fitness regime and they are transformed. I don't know what kind if incentives that side of the coaching staff receive but, given the value they have added to the squad, it should be enough to recognise what an asset they are and keep them here.

All that said we know that footballers are a bunch of preening show-ponys. Being forced to turn out in something their gran must have bought from Matalan will be breaking already tortured hearts at the sty.

Agree it is a great kit.

But nothing can beat the simple, classic beauty of this (nor the previous round-collared version).

Exactly like that would be great next season. It'd be nice to have the old coat of arms make an appearance too, but there's probably copyright bollocks preventing that.
