Crowd today?

2nd in the league in our first season in the championship for 6 years and the atmosphere is non-existent at most home games.

Such poor vocal support for most of the game today, the players deserve better.

Yawn

It makes me a pig for speaking the truth? Today was silent bar the last few minutes.

The players are doing their part and we're not.

There's no pleasing some folk.

Oh the blades are joint top of the championship after winning league one with 100 points and we're playing great football and we destroyed the pigs - but the crowd isn't loud enough so clearly everything is terrible.
Exactly. The players deserve better with what they're doing on the pitch. That is my point.

Funny how Gary Sinclair always says 'twenty FIVE thousand and...' like he expects everybody to go 'WOW...'

I guess you're nowhere near the back of the Kop then?

It could have been louder. It would have been louder if Ipswich fans had made some noise.

Guess what some games will be louder than others.

I'm convinced these that constantly moan about our support not only don't go away, but also can't go to games as a neutral.

They always expect our support to be so much better than anyone else's.

I could understand an OP like this if the players had got booed at half time or something daft.

I've watched the Blades all over the country and our support is louder than most - at home and away. No home crowd sings for 90 mins - some barely sing at all. I thought the atmosphere was decent today and at times very loud. Ipswich were incredibly quiet for away fans.

I was right in the middle of the Kop (row CC) and I thought it was a mostly flat atmosphere, particularly 2nd half after the goal, which surprised me given how well we played. When we piped up in injury time it felt like the first time the Kop had got going for about 20 minutes.

Going to agree with FinchleyBlade. I stand at the back of the kop and there's about 2-3 groups of us around Gangway D who try to get some atmosphere going. It's like pulling teeth at times. Didn't realise the kop had turned into the JSS. I thought the atmosphere at the Lane was superb towards the start of the season but it hasn't been rocking as much recently, when it should, given our recent performances. I went to Forest and I thought the Blades were quite flat there too, even when we were winning. It's confusing because we were really loud at Cardiff at times and Sunderland in particular. Ever since I've followed United, the atmopshere has improved proportionately to our performances on the pitch, which is why I don't get why the same hasn't happened this season.

I'd also like to mention how gash away fans have been this year. They may have travelled in numbers but most are so quiet bar the odd chant. The best ones so far have been Leicester, who didn't stop all game and were very loud.

Fucking idiotic comments. There is a lot of tension around the ground and understandably so given our great start.
What's wrong with you? Are we playing that well that you're looking for something to fucking moan about?
I'll be posting Wanker of the week tomorrow. Lots of wankers here to start it off!
Idiots or pigs is my theory on this one!

Not a massive moan, just an observation really. If that makes me a wanker, then I declare from this day forth, I wish to be referred to as Wanker Mendonca.

Watching from afar I thought it sounded oddly quiet. Put it down to being just one of those days.

You are also clearly a pig.

I find it strange that one of the best atmospheres I've ever heard at the lane was Aston Villa at home in the FA cup 15 years ago in front of 14,000 and this season we are 2nd in the league getting 25,000 and its dead for most of the game.

The 'characters' who started most of the chants and songs seem to have gone from the back of the Kop.

You can’t fight Anno Domini and occasional holidays at Her Majesty’s hotels

Gentlemen... We'll have less, please.

We ask that discussions are conducted without resorting to calling people "wankers" and accusing them of being pigs because they do not agree with you.

Much obliged.

I felt like it was quieter than normal today, but I am doped up on pain killers so it may just be that I'm not really on this planet...
