Lots of talk on here at the Minute.
Brooks being linked with Liverpool, Everton before that Wolves, Brighton, Bournemouth etc
Somebody stated Wilder to Everton.
So who would you sooner lose. Myself it would have to be Brooks as you just have to look at the Shite we've had when it comes to ex players and co taking the reigns of Sheffield United. I cringe with reminding myself that people such as.
Adkins - FFS - Weir - Nightmare - Adams - Shocking - Robson - just another game ( enough said ).
not including Clough, Wilson, Morgan x2, Heath, list goes on.
United seem to produce good young talent - another David Brooks will surely come along Soon.

So what are your opinions.

I'd sooner lose myself in the music

Wilder last week said Brooks is going nowhere in January and his word is gold.

He's said nothing of a move for himself to Everton though. December 31st Wilder goes, then nobody is at helm to fend off the bids for Brooks

;)

I'd sooner lose the memory of Dean Hammond :(

Neither will happen. But if it had to it'd be Brookes I'm afraid. Can't be losing lord wilder.

Chris Wilder is on cloud 9 at the minute. Not only bringing Northampton to League One, but getting his beloved Sheffield United out of the very same league, after six years, at the first attempt. On top of that, he took the team to top spot around New Year and they never budged from the number one position. On top of that, the team was promoted with 100 points, Billy Sharp was the leading scorer in the English Leagues, he put together (with Alan Knill) one of the best midfield trio's in living memory (Coutts, Fleck, Duffy), resurrected the careers of Paul Coutts and Kieron Freeman (Freeman scoring in double figures for the first time in his career), had Basham playing like his life depended on it, and helped create a cult hero in Jack O'Connell.

We have "landed" (to use his own words) in the championship, and every team has sat up and taken notice. One quarter of the season in, and we sit in third spot, and but for a few uncommon silly mistakes at the weekend, would have been second and homing in on first place.

He is exactly where he wants to be in life, and not everyone can say that.

He has a very strong chance of us securing a top six spot (if we can carry on like this), an achievement beyond anything any manager should realistically hope for during a first season in the Championship.

I just don't see anything tempting him yet. He is (and hopefully will be at the end of the season) incredibly, within touching distance of the Premiership.

I also don't think players want to leave him, I think he is that sort of manager that has lads playing out of their skin, hence when the final whistle went on Saturday at Forest, some of our players looked like they had just been relegated, instead of just losing a close fought game by one goal.

Brookes ("with his school boy looks"), will, I believe, be relishing this moment of his life, starting some games, coming off the bench for others, becoming an internet/social media sensation with that nutmeg at the Sty. Having TV pundits rave about him. Why risk all that?, if he can stay fit, the money will come eventually, if not here then elsewhere.

Managers and players come and go, we all know that, the only one constant factor, is us, the supporters, born, grow up and eventually die, supporting our club and no other.

We all have favourites and sometimes players we don't like, but for once, I really don't want any player or manager/staff to move on. I want this unit to stay together as long as possible.

UTB!

Absolutely!

I have been saying that this team spirit is special and the only time I can remember similar is Bassett from 89 - 92. It didn't last much beyond then, as the playing squad changed. The special spirit may only last for this season, but could potentially keep going a few years if he brings in similar characters and keeps the rump of the side together.

Whatever happens, it really is a wonderful time to be a Blade. This is why I get a bit pissy with some on here having a pop despite everything that is so good. I'm not a happy clapper, but when things are going as well as they are now, it is out of order to start moaning about minor little things that have no bearing on the bigger picture.

'One swallow does not a summer make', but we have the biggest bastard flock of red and white swallows there has been at S2 for many years, so we should enjoy it!

My biggest concern would be losing Wilder as a result of Brooks being sold without his authority.

I don't want to lose anyone in particular, least of all Wilder and Brooks. I'm probably going over the top now but I think really special players only come through once every 10 or 20 years and Brooks is one of them imo.

That's why we need to get to the Prem because we've more chance of keeping them both if we do.

yawn ..... I'd be pretty chuffed if we lost loser threads like this everytime an International break comes around.

It’s a fantastic opportunity to have a go at the club we claim to support over something that hasn’t happened. Not to be missed.

are you James Shields

there should be more of these worst case scenario threads

we are too happy just now

lets try and disrupt everything from the sidelines so we can all be miserable again
lets forget thrashing the owls , that was over a week ago and we lost narrowly on saturday so we can all start dooming and glooming again
and start looking for the quickest ways to go backwards

neither as for once I don't think the club will sell Brooks and Wilder will not go, not until he knows he gave it everything with us first, I know that's all a bit bladey blades, but fuck it, really think he will want to see just how far he can take Sheffield United, its a beautiful Moment, so long may it continue.
