I just hope we have enough in the tank to incorporate an FA cup run

United and cup runs are very special.
We've had a few near misses, maybe this is the team that can have another go at it

Squad is bigger to perhaps carry a cup run.
And although Wilder likes to w8n every game I see him resting a few in the early rounds.

Wow! Is that the only thing in the world, ever, that has never bothered you? :)

I'm in the pathetic group then. They have to run their trotters off first as far as I'm concerned.

By your logic, Uber-Pig Curran should have been welcomed with open arms.

Curran was waaaay before my time for a start.

I just don't see what can be gained from starting out with a position of hostility towards a player who most likely will have no dog in the fight when it comes to the Blade/Pig rivalry.

The exception being of course if they've already explicitly nailed their colours to the mast. Like that subhuman piece of excrement Gary Madine.

They have to work that much harder to get the crowd onside. I'm a big fan of Napoleon's "Encourager les autres" school of management.

That's more like it!

I was afraid that the new medication they had put you on was making you soft, but glad to see the 'old Tyler' is still in there.

His scoring record is quite fascinating.

Disregarding his spells at clubs where he got only a handful of games, fans of Wolves, Wednesday, QPR and Wigan would be rightly disappointed with his goals return, but to the fans of Chesterfield, Scunthorpe, Coventry and Bury he was prolific and would be regarded as a hero, as he has now become with us.

Oh, and Southend, he had a good spell there, but not Swindon where he had a fight with Di Canio

The Wednesday connection with players/managers never bothers me. In fact I find it pathetic when Unitedites use it as a reason to not like somebody. Not to mention unfair and counterproductive, like the way we "welcomed" Cresswell and Wilson to the club.
Cressy got it because of the comments he made when he signed for Leeds. But he won us over; his work rate, willingness to play for the team and to put his body on the line would have suited Wilder.

I think Leon is finally enjoying life here , and a happy forward is one that relaxes and plays with that touch of panache from all his previous experince coming into play.
Hes probably like several other forwards at his peak later on in is career, having found his perfect home

But, is there an early round in the FA Cup for us ?
We join in round 3 with just 64 team left,
3 random wins regardless of our form and it's a quarter final place
If Cloughs team could do it from round 1, I'm sure that this team with a decent couple of draws out of the hat could

We were lucky in that we kept getting drawn against clubs that were starting a decline; Villa, Fulham, Charlton have all been relegated and Forest were lucky not to be. If we get drawn against clubs like that again, we'll tear 'em to shreds. And if any PL clubs think they can take liberties and play an under strength side, they're in for a shock.

Madine?

Curran is a bastard, Nuff said
