Firstly I was surprised he came on...I expected a further change and thought CW would have bought on Lundstrum for Clarke/Brookes as an extra body in midfield for the last 10..

Secondly I thought Ched was excellent for his 12-15 minutes, ran, harried, irritated and pressured really well....if that's 50-60% fit and needing a minor ankle operation, just think what he will be like when 100%.

At 2-0 Wilder likes to keep the pressure on

Don't be surprised if he starts at Forest. According to Wilder Clarke has a 'tight hamstring' so will be doubtful

He's been unlucky so far not to have a goal. Fleck should have played him in against Derby? (Flecks only tarnish this season). and he nearly had one at Sunderland. His power and pace are getting up to this level now and My God did you see how high he got when challenging in the centre last night? I would love to see him fully fit. I think management are playing this well. Getting him up to pace whilst he waits for the op then it should be less recovery time after the op?

He worked hard and looked fairly quick considering his ankle is apparently preventing him sprinting.

Hopefully he has his operation straight after the Forest game. Looking forward to seeing what he can do after that.

Sorry, saw different to me. Agree chased and harried when not in possession, but to me he seems to have lost a sense of where he should be when we have the ball.

Fair point but that will come with time.....on a couple of occasions he took up fantastic positions as we broke but the ball didn't come his way, he did however pull their defenders left right and centre as they obviously didn't have a clue where he was going either...!!!

That's what I saw also. Lots of effort, not a lot of quality with it. As I have said more than once, the sooner he's in for his op to give him the best chance of a return to full fitness, the better it'll be for him and for the team.

I'm gonna hold off him till he's had this op that's gonna cure all his ailments but sorry to say, some people are seeing a different Ched to me...

I'll reserve judgement until he's had a couple of months of injury free football. That may never happen but if does then we'll see what he has.

I don't see it still. Ran round a lot, to be fair. No obvious sign of any quality to me.

I think last night is the ideal situation from him. I don't think he is a big goal threat, but it wouldn't surprise me if he is the strongest player in the squad, so defenders are always going to hate having to compete with him for the last 10-15 mins.

Agree with Snowy
He worked hard but was ineffectual and you could see this frustrated him, greatly.
He needs that op so that he can play without restriction - only then will we be able to see if he can do the business, again.

He was out of football for a long time, he won't be 100% for a while yet.

He needs the operation as soon as possible. We can’t have a striker who is in pain when he tries to shoot.

surely he will have the op after Saturday ? seems the best timing , 2 weeks with no game and surely billy , clayton and leon (even possibly Hanson / lavery) should /hopefully will be fit come the Ipswich game

Reminds me of Danny Cadematari. Runs around a lot but doesn't really know what he's doing.

Hope to be proved wrong over the season.

He puts in a shift fair play to him, not sure I can see him scoring regularly though yet.

As soon as Don and Bill are fit I'd drive him to the hospital for the op, get him back to full fitness.

It's October in a couple of days, he'll be back by mid November I imagine, and we should be getting Lavery back before that, maybe Hanson.

Comments on Evans this season are pretty much identical to those about Clarke at the same stage of last season. Both have/had niggles which surgery should/did sort out - let's reserve judgement on Evans until he's 100% fit.

Fair play to him by the way - plenty of players would cry out carrying the sort of injury he is but he's taking one for the team given we're short up front at the moment.

I don't recall a time when Ched was given a ball to do something with to be honest. He flicked the ball on well and his effort was quality and I thought he couldn't do anymore from the cameo and service he got. I think last night was encouraging.

I think it's unusual for anyone to come on with 15 minutes left and completely change the game, especially difficult when we're already 2-0 up.

I thought he worked hard, closed down defenders and made runs which is surely all that can be expected from a player with his level of fitness?

I think It's good that Wilder keeps him involved and the additional game time will definitely benefit him when he eventually regains full fitness.

Agree with that mate. I thought Ched looked yards faster than on his previous appearances. He looked a totally different level of fitness! Bizarre! I hope this is a sign that he's getting closer to being fully match fit and doesn't need the op after all?

I think I'd drive Hanson to the Vets instead and have him put down.;)

People need to remember he was brough in to only replace McNulty. We haven't lost any other strikers and we have added with Donaldson and the emergence of Brooks.

We are a team and a squad and sometimes you need to utilise the squad. Sharp is clearly not fit as he hasn't got on last 2 games. Ched is sacrificing himself for Sharp currently.

Which is probably one of the reasons why we are second in the table having that mentality.

Top post. Leon was getting dogs abuse throughout last season. Both have held up their hands to play when not fit. Well done lads for showing this mentality. Evans has been through some terrible times and as fans we should get behind him.

Rabbit around it's lsst night, but so e bloody should for 15 minutes!

The main point is, when is he realistically going to play for us? Once Donaldson, Sharp and Lavery are all fit (which is very soon) he will be 6th in the pecking order. I just don't see how he will ever get time on the pitch after the international break. Is he ever going to be better than those ahead of him? Highly doubtful IMO

What? Danny "I can only hit the post" Cadamateri? Give over. Evans has scored more goals than Danny did in his entire career and thats despite having 2 or so years banged up.

I think an unfit Evans looks more likely to get a goal than Danny ever did.
