I thought it looked a harsh pen on ifollow. Think the ref is influenced by the fact CCV seemed to misjudge the ball initially, then possibly got a bit of his hand on the ball, before making the challenge. Jota unnaturally drops to the ground in my view – justice done with the Neves miss.

Has he given it for handball do you think but tried to let the Wolves player play on?

Highlights of Birmingham v Wednesday underneath...go on then!

Awesome Blades..Wolves are no mugs. The sending off helped obviously, but that's a major scalp.

Didn't seem to be much in the penalty - I wondered if h'd maybe given it for handball or something initially.

That Neves needs a word with his agent from one of European footballs hottest properties and portugese international - linked with the likes of Chelsea and Man U to a championship move an a penalty miss against a newly promoted side

If he wants to play football then the move to Wolves was a smart move rathar than barely getting a match at Chelsea and being farmed out on loan. He is still getting a fair wedge of cash considering Wolves are the 5th richest club in the UK.

He's a portugese international and was a regular at Porto & playing European football.

The fucks he doing in Wolverhampton?

Something dodgy with mendes - his agent if you ask me.

Possibly but a lot of young players tend to get out of Portugal to further their career and most nip over the border to Spain. I think Wolves being rich had some sway over his decision anyway.

Lovely stuff. Ruddy really sold himself for that first goal, which was nice after he was giving it the big 'un in the build up. I thought the ref probably got it right for the red card and the penalty, to be honest.

Was that free kick Duffy's first touch, by the way?

I read an article about him and he said he'd moved to Wolves because it increased his chances of getting to the Prem. He didn't necessarily mean with Wolves. He meant playing in England. He sees Wolves as a stepping stone to bigger things, that's why he's there. The only snag is that he'll need to be a stand out player at Wolves to get recognised and from what I saw of him last night he's got some way to go yet. £16 M for that? You gotta be joking!

I'll be honest, I had know idea which one he was until he was subbed & had his name read out. That's not meant in an arrogant way (I can never read the bloody names on the shirts anyway) I just assumed he'd be the stand out player on the pitch or at least in the Wolves side.

Maybe it’s interesting that he’s had to have his agent manufacture the move to England. As is often the case I’d never heard of him.

Does that say he has been tearing up the Portuguese league and making himself of interest to premier league clubs? Or does it say more that him or his agent are simply chasing some money? After all, hardly loads of money in the Portuguese league.

It’s not as if premier league clubs only shop in the English leagues now is it.
Perhaps, the lad is just an average player with a jumper up fee attached...apparently...to try and suggest how good he is rather than proving how good he is.

After watching them, I don’t see Wolves tearing away with this league. Yes, they are a good side but nothing special and although they may hammer a few sides, they will also come unstuck a lot once teams start playing tactically to stifle their strengths.

According to Roy's view from that Neves has had a drop off in form lately. I knew who he was because I signed him on FIFA a few years ago.
