He has unbelievable control and skills, he is going to be a revelation. Play him behind Sharp & Donaldson.

Really? I thought he dissappeared in the 2nd half and Carruthers and Thomas looked better than him when they came on.

Brooks will learn but his final ball was often poor today and he gave no support to Evans who was isolated up front.

Of course, he has talent. Real talent.

But he is still VERY raw. Lacks end product.

Next Sunday will be far from ideal for him to start. Although expect to come off the bench.

UTB

Brooks faded second half and is not a striker. Has got great potential, could perhaps play the Duffy role.

Really need two proper strikers next week hopefully Donaldson is back to partner Clarke as it doesn't sound promising for Billy,

I thought Evans played like a Zombie and Brooks had nothing to play off. If you thought he vanished 2nd half you were watching a different game to me.

Why what's happened to Billy?

Evans was ok in the second half . How can Brooks have ' nothing to play off ' when he rarely passed a ball to feet in the 2nd half. As I said he will learn but ti say he should start next week is laughable

Don't be daft, he was MOM and our only threat.

No, let's not start Brooks. Let's (hopefully) start our best team if we can. The clue is in 'team'. The only way we'll win is if we played together as a team. Brooks is great to bring off the bench at the moment.

Fine debut from Brooks that.

He faded, as you'd expect, but he was a real threat & willing to try the outrageous.

Just needs the game-time to properly click with those around him. He's gonna be fantastic for us.

And, personally, I hope he starts next week.

One bit of advice to Brooks from a total know nowt... If you get the ball in the opposition box, keep hold of the thing and do your tricks. You will be fouled. Twice he offloaded when it's time to gamble.

Created his own chance in the first half but didn't do much second half.

I'm somewhere between these two. Thought Brooks did an awful lot today to force himself into the starting 11 next week, however, i also agree that he tired and went missing a little bit in the second half. He's a talented lad, holds the ball well and I would have no fear in starting him, but i think If Sharp and Donaldson are fit, they have to start.

Ched did himself no harm either from what i saw. Looks sharper, but i fear that he will be struggling to recover from a full game, given the talk is that he can hardly walk after games

Brooks-aldinho behind sharp and Clayton he'll be class at the rust bucket if he starts, he looked ready for the championship today, glad we've kept him until January at the earliest, we've got a star on our hands with him

Thought then crosses that ched put in second half would've had Billy's name all over it if he was playing. Ched will come good and he's had a full 90 mins under his belt fingers crossed billy, Leon and Clayton are ready for next Sunday, reckon wilder will have rested them if they've got any slight knock for the derby

No reason to start Brookes from me.

He needs to work on his final ball, should have scored today and his supporting of team mates. He can be knocked off the ball far too easily at times as well.

All stuff he will learn and he has been a breath of fresh air with his dribbling and ability to take people on.

Duffy has been immense since his return, just a shame the petrol runs out on 70 minutes.

Yeah, I agree... you could counter that and say that the cross has to hit the striker, however I don't believe that was the case today.

At least one of Brooks, coutts, fleck, Duffy/ carruthers, Stevens/ Thomas should be busting a gut to get into the box

It reminded me a bit of the season before last and times last season where billy was chasing the ball out wide and putting the crosses in which he should've been on the end of.

Don't want to be super critical, but I think perhaps Ched should've stayed through the middle, let the wing backs, attacking midfielders and brooks chase and create, ched should be in the middle. I think that's where Wilder and knill need to focus with the Ched/ brooks partnership

Threat ? Can't remember anything he created where he set up a chance.
Presumably you blinked as his delightful flick nutmegged their defender and put us into a dangerous position in their box.

I wouldn't. Thought he was good in patches but disappeared for too much of the game, and he certainly isn't a striker.
If sharp and Donaldson are fit they have to start and then I'd pick carruthers over Duffy all day long

Yes, i think he did well.

He was always looking to make stuff happen for me and trys to look for a gap to get past the defense, he's always looks for space and keeps moving making himself hard to track.

Not everything comes off for him and he can lose possession more than most. But he's a high risk player, he's a bit all or nothing. He is an exciting player and that's what i really like about duff.

All stuff i hope Brookes will emulate in time. He's just not quite there yet for me.

We certainly don't need to change Fleck/Coutts/Duffy in the middle.

Brooks may be a good option in a free forward role alongside a suitable strike partner - perhaps someone more mobile than Evans.

I felt that Brooks showed us today that he's naturally winger. Thomas also impressed me when he came on, but neither fit our current system well. They both looked well suited to 4-2-3-1 when we switched after the subs, but the squad overall isn't geared up to playing wingers at the moment.

I'd like to see more of Brooks (and Thomas) but not sure how best to use them. One for CW and AK to ponder.

Totally agree, wasn't too disheartened with today thought we played well against a team that had clearly done their homework on how United play and shut up shop. Think brooks should've done better with his chance looking back on it but we can't win them all
