It's far too early to start talking about a promotion push again.......isn't it?
Thing is, our 6-game form so far in games which represent at least the average of what we will face the rest of this season, reads P6 W4 L2.
Factor in the Boro robbery, it should be P6 W4 D1 L1
Even using the actual results, that puts us on more than enough points to put us in dreamland.
A major thing for me though, is we are now showing the same fearless, team spirited, run-through-walls-for-the-club attitude that was so important last year. We are playing with swagger and owning teams like we did last year, but above all, we're playing some great stuff.
Obviously I know all sorts can happen during the season and probably will, but I don't mind admitting that I'm starting to get just a little bit hopeful......

I started a thread after we beat Port Vale 4 - 0 last season asking the question then, and that was early on. So nothing wrong with thinking about this now.

The early signs are very very promising but personally I am sticking with my prediction of 13th until we have played most teams once and will then re-assess.

It is of course too early to start talking of promotion.

What it isn't too early to do, and some of our fans thought, that a 100 point attaining, championship winning team was only good enough for lower to mid table mediocrity and some believing 4th bottom was good enough for this division.

We should not be over confident and "massive", but we should at least be positive about what this management team and players can achieve.

We appear to be learning lessons very quickly and again appear to be growing into the season at a nice pace.

Danny is right above - we just need to stay calm.

One game at a time was key last season and Wilder seemed to keep everyone grounded. We've played 6 but have 40 to go, too early to start talking about promotion for any of the 24 teams. Not too early to be very pleased with our start though! Don't forget what us blades are like though, loose a couple and we'll be looking at the bottom 3 with angst and not the top 2 with optimism.

The big problem is the Football Gods look like they are back playing mischief with our Strikers.

Well there's definately nobody to fear, and I haven't seen anyone who is going to batter us...ofcourse we'll get beat on occasions.
One game at a time, but I fancy us for at least play off's at this stage with January ahead to strengthen further.
We seem to build these teams up to be world beaters, but despite loads of money being thrown around, there is a lot of ordinary sides out there..some look good on paper, some have bought a lot of players and not helped, but not to many with our work ethic and team spirit it seems...we shouldn't fear anyone.

Nowt wrong with confidence , nowt wrong at all . I sincerely hope confidence sweeps through every facet of our Club from top to bottom in exactly the same way that it did last season .

Arrogance however , nah , not for us thanks . Leave that to the Great unwashed in South Barnsley :)

Luck....and I don't mean luck on the field but luck off it.

We need to avoid unlucky injuries, at the moment we have Sharp as the only fully fit striker at training on Monday.
Evans ain't right, despite his little cameo yesterday, and suspect he might be playing with the aid of painkillers. We need to hope Claytons issue was more cramp from his work rather than a tear, and that the Physio and conditioners will be able to work some magic for Tuesday.

Think that game was just after the 2nd international break , and we find ourselves just after the first one?

I've always thought that the table after that 2nd break( ie early/mid Oct) doesn't tell lies, if we are in a similar position then we've every reason to believe in a sustained tilt at the upper echelons of English football .......(see what I did there....)....

If they had allowed that perfectly good goal, we would be third.......

You were all warned.

Plenty chose to prefer what their blue n white mates were telling em.

La liga, as it turns out, isn't like La Liga at all. It's bang average in fact.

UTD are well equipped to deal with the challenge. Maybe even a bit better than that ;)

Far too early to be thinking about promotion. If we're in the same position come February, then yes, maybe.

It's going to get harder when teams start respecting us. A few injuries could change everything. We just need to keep plugging away and see what happens.
