.....before our next game away to Sunderland. The consensus seems to be one of approval, although being Blades we do have a need to nag, why I'm not sure, but it's there, probably a genetic part of our makeup, but for those who couldn't wait until the season began, meaning all of us, we showing that we can compete against the 'giants' of La Liga (which twat coined that phrase??).

No idea whether Donaldson will begin this game, but I imagine he'll appear at some point. I reckon he'll do well for us, so finger's crossed he remains fit and can bring something positive to our game. As for the Scottish lad at CH, I doubt he'll begin, but it's not that long ago (I'm thinking the Clough-Adkins era) since we were poorly served at the centre of defence, and now we have good choices to select from, with, of course, JOC being a shoe-in for us.

No idea whether Baldock is fit and ready to go, but as usual Wilder will keep us up to date when he see's fit.

Apart from that, we seem to be in good shape and I'm looking forward to the mighty Blades taking something from this game.

The sooner Saturday arrives the better! UTMB!!

I feel positive about Saturday and I'm rarely positive about any upcoming fixture. Looking forward to it.

The hunt for likes is strong here!!;)

Can't wait, another 3 points and a wider gap!
COYRAWW!!

Sunderland haven't really got going yet. A new manager still trying to get his ideas across and twitchy home support.
We have a settled team who understand their managers ethos and execute it, one of the league's early top scorers and momentum.

Think we'll do them.

Sunderland are a little nervous on the back of 2 defeats, and so if we can score first they may crumble.
I'm sure Donaldo will start, he's a known quantity to Chris.

Just a quick reminder that it is the Great North run this weekend, so expect more traffic on the way to Sunderland.

See you all there.

Certainly our best chance a picking up something away from home yet in the upcoming 2 games.

I hope we start positively as we have in our three home games, we have looked a bit like we have given the opposition too much respect early on in the Boro and Cardiff games.

Reckon Donaldson is a cert to start if he's up to speed with Wilder's team.
Be interesting to see whether Sunderland can respond after Barnsley tonked em'

UTB!

Great North Run is on Sunday isn't it? Need to keep Grabban quiet, restrict them to a few distant pot shots and their crowd will soon turn the volume down. Come on boys...

I think Donaldson may well get to play in this game. For those who have concerns about his pace now compared to say 5 years ago, a fresh challenge at a new club can do wonders and will give him a fresh injection of adrenaline. He'll be pumped up for it.

Who else can start up front with Billy other than Donaldson - no-one else fit or eligible unless he playes Brooks but unlikely I would have thought

Brooks will start because Carruthers is injured. Donaldson probably too given Clarke is serving his last game of the ban (?).

I'd happily take a draw btw.

Have the massivest like ever!

Really, the boy's not a jock?
Yes, he's a Manc. Played for Everton and Stoke as a youth but got released and worked his way back into pro football via Chester. Seems like a CW signing.

That
The thing is with United you're never quite sure what you're going to get. The following is a sequence of results from 1971. By the way, this was League Division 1, not League 1.

20 Nov 1971 Derby County v Sheffield United L 3-0 League Division One
27 Nov 1971 Sheffield United v Ipswich Town W 7-0 League Division One
04 Dec 1971 Crystal Palace v Sheffield United L 5-1 League Division One

They will always fuck your brains up. Long may it continue.

Palace game is around on YT somewhere. We played like kings at BDTBL in front of the YTV cameras and bombarded poor little Laurie Sivell in the Ipshite net then go away and play in yellow and get sausaged by Palace midweek (wasn't it?) at night on the Selhurst mud. Think one of their goals was a 200 yard top corner screamer with Jon Hopeless (was it?) sprawling.

That was possibly my first depressing Blades moment. One of many to come.

I was at that game, it was pissing it down. It was John Hughes who blasted it, nearly decapitated our goalie. Can't remember if it was Hope or not though. What I do remember were the nice new bogs at the back of their terrace. All shiny with hot water at the time ours was an overflowing trough at the back of the kop. Our fans trashed it. Plus ca change.

I was at the game too. Met Tony Mercer from Black & White Minstrel Show in the stand before the kick off. We wore gold shirts. Goals can be viewed from 10 mins 44 secs in below video. Palace scorers were Tony Taylor, John Hughes (2) , Len Badger (o.g) and John McCormick. Dearden scored for us

My brother who attended the match told me in wonderment they had stainless steel urinals which is something that confused me at the time thinking they must have been made is Sheffiedl so how come we were still using cearmic?
