We had got SInclair, Cole and Donaldson given that Billy is undroppable at the moment ?

Clarke has 2 more matches suspension to serve so it would have been interesting to see the starting 2 ?
My guess woulld have been Billy and Sinclair to start with CD and DC on the bench with Clarke also on bench when available

Guess it wo

Clark has 1 more to serve but I think Donaldson would have got the nod.

Will be interesting to see which of Leon and Clayton will be bench warming.

Or could it be Bill ? Tufty loves Leon !

Would have been a nice problem though, and also you can understand in such a situation why CW would never take a player on loan who had it written in the loan agreement that he must play

Donaldson is a bigger and better version of Clarke so as long as he justifies his inclusion in the starting 11 the shirts his .

CW doesn't do sentiment , though I'm sure you'll insist he does :)

Agree 100%. I like Clarke...his application and commitment towards the end of last season was fantastic, and he scored some important goals. However, as you said, CW doesn't do sentiment, and Donaldson to me as well looks like a bigger, more mobile version, which is what we've been crying out for to partner Billy "goal machine" Sharp.

It will be interesting to see if we eventually look at having a home and an away approach.

Billy has 4 in 3 at home.

He's been relatively anonymous away.

Now we have Donaldson, I wonder if playing Brooks off Donaldson would be another consideration.

Certainly Donaldson is one of those with pace though perhaps not like a few years back, who can hold the ball up. Poor man's Lukaku is probably what we need. Having Brooks in a free role with Duffy alongside might give us a chance to have more possession and with a big novike firward to hold the ball up could see us break more effectively at pace.

We would have more options, so it was disappointing their agent messed them around.

I do hope the FA look into that agent.

Come on Rammy, I've been sat here since this morning waiting for the answer.
Guess it wo what?
Guess it won't be long before we're lifting another trophy?
Guess it wouldn't hurt to reduce the beer prices at home matches?

We got Donaldson because we didn't get the others, I'm more interested in seeing Brooks nuke the division.

You not watched the video pal? Quite clear we wanted the lot of them including donaldson as they al offered something different and would have cost us next to nothing besides (decent) wages

No didn't see it, but I will take Sharp & Donaldson as a pair. Power, height and lethal Billy on the end of it.

Same here think it's a good pairing, I reckon the other two were direct competition for each other as the impact player with pace, possibly Lavery upgrades/cover

Based on what?

Clarke is younger than Donaldson and has scored more goals in the Championship.
Donaldson has scored his 32 goals in the Championship in the last 3 seasons. Leon only has 3 of his 35 since he left Wednesday seven years ago I think.

I think Donaldson is more likely to start with Leon coming on at the end subject to injuries and the occasional rotation.

It would've likely been between Donaldson, Clarke and Sinclair to partner Sharp IMO. Maybe Sinclair in for Sharp away from home sometimes. Cole as more of a development/impact player. Hanson would've left. Lavery would've been likely to move in January, he may still do so.

One thing's for sure, it would've been extremely hard picking the matchday 18, with Quina as well. The likes of Wright, Lafferty, Heneghan, Carruthers, Lundstram, Evans and Lavery could all have been sitting it out!
