Good goal...the way he rides that tackle reminds me of George Best,as did the one v Chesterfield..not that i'm comparing him to Best.

Having spoken to his mum at the Derby game, he loves being at United and was waiting for the transfer window to close before he bought a flat in Sheffield. She was praying he wasn't sold and desperately hoping he wasn't. I think if we settle him into the team sensibly we could have a real player on our hands.

The difference with Brooks to many of our young lads who have left, is that he's already been that starlet at a big club and not made it. Why would he want to go back to that when he has the perfect opportunity to get as high as his skills will take him.

He is a valuable lesson to young lads already with us and I hope Wilder starts him alongside Billy in a free role.

Window shut, play him now he's better than anything else we have, let him loose.

It's an excellent start to his (and Page's) U21 career. It'll be very interesting to see how he does in Portugal on Tuesday.

How does he not start for us !!!????

He can't not now, I think he's been wrapped up to avoid interest which is fair enough but at the same time it's bollocks???. We don't have a player like him, probably haven't in decades, he's possibly the best player in this division, let him loose and put £25m on him in January.

Very impressed with Brooks, when he came on vs. Barnsley...Big star in the making. Like an early doors Chris Waddle, minus the mullet.

This might be a gormless question but.....didn't he play for England in that recent U20 summer tournament? I presume that players don't have to nail their colours to the mast until they reach the full squad??

Yes but somehow he can turn out for Wales now, then turn out for us again once he is famous.

They don't, they can feature for any team they are eligible to at below senior level and senior level friendlies but they cannot change once they have featured in an international tournament or qualifier

Where do you start him though? Ahead of Duffy, whose return to the side has coincided with a return to form? Ahead of Coutts & Fleck in a deeper midfield role, which he's less suited to? As a striker, which isn't really his position? Or do you change the formation?

I think it's fairly understandable why he doesn't start for us – it isn't completely simple to work him in. I'd probably given the lack of fit strikers play him off Sharp, but that seems less likely with Donaldson's arrival and Clarke's imminent return from suspension.

Agree with this. For me, Duffy coming back was not only influential, but obvious. He should not have been dropped for Carruthers in the first place.

Off Billy at Sunderland for me, we've got Donaldson as back up.

Brilliant goal, no other player we have does that, he just needs believing in, he performs so we'll at international level, just needs to bring that confidence to the DESSO.

I would still have him come from the bench for the time being and I think he's quality. I think Wilder will too.

Duffy missed preseason due to his wife giving birth, do was 2-3 weeks behind the other players...

Carruthers was given the chance to stake a claim in the first 3 games and failed the audition.

Didn't know that about Duffys baby. I will forgive the decision. I'll call off the hit.
