I'll be delighted if he isn't needed to start a game, because it'll mean the two that are starting are fit and doing well. But there is nothing to be gained from an injured Evans, and it further minimises the chances of him making a useful contribution to the squad. We cannot rely just on Sharp, and having everyone match fit, including Evans, is important – regardless of any views held at the time he signed. Willing him to fail is utterly counterproductive.

No mate, you harbour a real grudge and dislike for this guy because of what happened and you are pleased with this outcome. Just admit it - you probably can't help how you are, any more than Ched could.

I hold a grudge against someone who is in a position of responsibility and has a fantastic lifestyle and salary to mitigate the fact he has to live with being a role model. I hold a grudge that he has sex with a girl who was smashed and doesn't remember when he should have been at home with his missus. I have a grudge that for him it's a job, whereas for me it's a club for life and after the most enjoyable season for years, I have lost interest again.

But mainly I have a grudge because we paid half a million for a striker and again on deadline we have to buy another one because no one seems to have the faith that he'll do the job.

We didn't need him, we don't need him and still we have to pay his wages.

Agree 100%. I hope he does well for us, but the recurring injury and needing to spend money on Donaldson is further evidence this is likely to be a bad signing.

If we had signed any other frequently injured forward from Chesterfield with 6 goals to his name last year most supporters would wonder what the hell we were doing. And rightly so.

I'd pick you up on a couple of things:

1. If a footballer is a role model you might need to reevaluate your role models
2. He was 24yr old, out with mates, getting pissed, should he really have been sat at home with his missus, i had nights out with my mates when i was 24, especially when i had time off work.

Lots of bad decisions appear to have been made by both parties on that night of the alleged rape, should he have gone into the hotel room, no, did he know how 'smashed' the girl was? He was told by the girl "fuck me" of something along these lines. It was all very regrettable, rapist, i'm not sure about that.

Should we have signed him, debatable, however he's here now, i'll support him, did he deserve to have his life ruined by a crude judgement of error, probably not.

In normal circumstances I'd agree

However I've seen with my own eyes that for 6 months way back in 2012 he's the most impressive striker we've had since Brian Deane, never seen anyone be so head and shoulders above the standard of the league he was playing in (admittedly it was only league 1 though).

Also Wilder has an excellent record on signings.

Assume he saw Ched as a low cost calculated risk with the contract/ bonuses weighted in the clubs favour.

We aren't reliant on Ched and there's a low expectation, everything to gain and very little to lose.
In my book that's a shrewd gamble.

I have made my point before about what I thought of the situation. But whatever one thinks about the evidence one way or another, the court decided he should be a free man. In the Court of Crab however, he is and shall remain a fucking bellend who should have made sure he was somewhere else. Unfortunately though, this is the sort of thing that happens every weekend, footballer or not. Doesn't make it right of course, but it does happen.

As for role models in football or any other sport, I stopped hoping for those a long time ago, you usually end up let down.
