Great draw!!. Just wondering if either side will put a full strength team out?. Ched and Thomas must surely get a game!. I've a feeling Leicester will do what they did last season and play their youngsters?. In wilder we trust

What a fuck up! They said that a red ball meant a home draw and then when they were drawn out said it was an away draw, they halfway through, changed it back to a home draw :D
Noticed that as well, first 6-7 matches will have to be switched surely.

Piggies getting beaten up at Bolton

Leicester .fine draw

According to Pork talk, we're out, easy win for them at Notlob....

How can Burton Albion be in the south draw whilst Newport County are in the north draw? That makes sense.....

Plus because Grimsby didn't play Derby, technically, they ended up seeded :-)

Great draw. Anybody else notice how they messed up the home and away balls in the first 4 draws? So funny, the compare knew he'd got it wrong but just went with the flow and hoped nobody noticed. His face was a picture.

Hopefully not a redraw ..... shouldn't effect us if it is

It was only the Southern section they fucked up and if you noticed they didn't put it up at the end.

Leicester is a great draw - a test against a good Prem side so great if you win but no embarrassment if you don't.

Magic

My thoughts exactly.

There were 2 groups, seeds and non seeds and those 2 groups were split into north and south.

Newport would be in the non seed group and I'm guessing most of the non seeds are in the South
So although Newport is south of Birmingham they are one of the more northerly teams from the non seed pot. So they ended up in the "non seed north pot".

All the lower PL and Championship were seeded
But even though us and Bolton were promoted we were also put in the non seed pot.

Excellent draw for us, should be a decent gate

Burton and Newport were both unseeded (Burton got Cardiff away)

Apparently it was because Newport couldn't play at home due to work on ground. West Ham couldn't play at home due ground being unavailable so to stop them drawing each other Newport put in north and most southerly unseeded northern club was Burton.

Still stupid!

Jesus wept! Seriously, imagine him meeting Jack O'Connell?

Odds on him bottling the Lane? - odds on Jordan Rhodes taking a pen in a pressure situation?...

Problem with that explanation is that the massive Wolves were also drawn as an unseeded Southern team away at Southampton I believe. Much more likely that some London based twat hadn't got a bloody clue where Newport was and assumed it was up North.

The people at the top of the game always have to be seen to be doing something for their ludicrous wages, the only problem is they very rarily change things for the good.

The league cup and the FA Cup should be a random draw and it's this that makes it unique. What they're signalling by seeding teams in the league cup is that it's on its last legs and it has been for years, that's why they're fucking around with it.

If anything, the league cup is just a hindrance to most teams and needs scrapping if truth be told but will they even discuss this change in their meetings? Will they fuck!

Leicester great draw for us, theyll play reserves & like us v walsall will be disjointed so have a chance

i wonder where people who are sat in front of me. will be home or away end. as they watch both Us & Leicester at home. Although under adkins alot more Leicester than us. but then don't blame them as travelling from Leicester is long way to watch crap when Leicester are going to be premier league champions

Good draw. Should be a decent crowd and could possibly be on TV.

Hard game though. Leicester don't have any reserves anymore!

Might get to see Harry Maguire
He was popular here so I'm sure he'll get a great reception.

If Vardy plays any part in the match, his Wednesday background gaurantees he'll get some stick.

Newport couldnt play at home so they put them in the north. Wolves were already in the south. Burton were swapped with Newport.

Still stupid.

12 years ago last week.

I recall that was first home match of season and we played dreadful but came out 4-1 winners. But I'm old and I still think I can remember us being a good side int PL and McCabe backing the manage and not selling our best players so I'm probably sooooooo wrong.

I have never wanted Gary Madine to score goals and generally be as much of an unpleasant, thuggish twat on a football pitch than I do right at this moment...

IF they play I could see Maguire and Mardy sustaining long term accidental injuries. Not career threatening of course. But an accident is an accident. I said could see not I hope. Mind you in the case of the piggy twat.... I'll just say UTCB

To be fair both Vardy and Maguire were excellent yesterday. It would be good to see Maguire play at the Lane again.
