Blackwell will indeed last the season and i dare say a lot longer then that; a point away to Ipswich is a great result.

Blackwell bought Cotterill to play as an offensive wide right player but it was not until late in the day, and after he had finalised the deal to bring halford to the lane that the deal was complete.

Sun has had a couple of indifferent games at left full back and so Naysmith was preferred as a more reliable option. I agree with this decision but i am surprised he did not make the bench.

One enforced change from the last match; not exactly wholesale changes in my book.

As i already pointed out in an earlier post, Cotterill was added as an offensive option on the right hand side. Blackwell has gone on the record as saying that he thought the deal to bring in Cotterill had failed and so he fetched Halford in on loan as an alternative and then Wigan relented and agreed to sell Cotterill.

It would seem that Halford is showing more in training and he has certainly turned in some very assured perfromances as well as providing a fluid right hand side in tandom with Naughton.

Money is obviously being wasted with the likes on Hendrie, Gillespie and Carney still on big wages whilst being nowhere near the first team. I don't consider the signing of Cotterill to be a waste of money because he is young, has talent and Halford is only here on loan but i have to admit i am concerned that he is failing to even make the bench.

The signing of Dyer on loan only compounds my confusion...

I would imagine that Blackie sees Halford as sufficient cover should anything happen to Naughton so he did not need a right back on the bench; therefore Sun was sacrificed.

I'm not disagreeing with you about sun being a good footballer, i'm a big fan of his but i'm sure there's a good reason for it.

The forwards between them cannot have got ten goals this season from open play, this is what is holding us back from being in the top three. Why did we get Cotterill ? mmmm fook knows always said he was a light weight nesh wanker as is Dyer why the fook did we bring him in ? Not at all, what I am saying is he should be getting on the end of balls in the penalty area but then again he likes roving on the wing and defending too much.
