I heard they previously got a reprise, but have now closed... But I couldn't confirm.

It's closed at the moment. Not sure if it will be reopening but they had all their electricity turned off last week due to unpaid bills so not looking good at the moment.

The Queens Road Club used to be a very popular haunt of a load of Blades from Worksop I know quite well .

Fuck me , does that mean we'll have to put up with them in town :eek:

Oh well , itll be mildly amusing watching them walking around the big tarn and wondering why we have red amber and green flashing lights on the roads ;)

Oie I'm a sheffield lad that happens to reside in Worksop ;)

Impressed, but I would have been more so if you'd had an SX200.
Changed to a GT175 with bored out and polished ports, scammed down head, Ancelotti silencer, stretched back racing seat and a 35mm Amil down draft carbs. And we new how to dress Bellstaff jacket, Farah trousers and v neck over a Ben Sherman aaaaahhhhhhhhhh.

What, the old Heartbeat above the bowling alley? Gravy and chips and a game of bowls! Wednesday night special in HB.

Hung out there on my LI 150, Union Jack backrest and headrest, megaphone silencer, chrome work everywhere, fly screen and 22 mirrors aaaaahhhhhhhh. And we new how to dress, Parker, Levi and Doc Martins.

Memories
I'll raise you my GP150 with wildcat conversion...................Lambretta days :)

GP was to modern for me, was it the white one with black stripe?

Mine was a H reg 1970 White with black Adidas stripes ,i graduated from an LD the type with the single seats.

Loved the GP,did allsorts to it,went down the mirrors and fur backrest first off to the sleek racing style. We used to cut the pistons inlet side down by about 5mm and shape and polish it so it was like a knife.Got that tuning racing bug after visiting Cadwell Park.

Last time i was on a scooter was in Rhodes i hired a Vespa 200 for a week,no helmet just shorts and trainers, makes me shudder when i think back.

This was me doing the standing quarter at RAF Fulbeck, rode for the Sheffield Scorpions the following month at Cadwell that was about 1968 approx, rubbish with dates, not so good at racing either.

Big regret is the only picture I had of my old LI (single sprung seats) was lost when my mum died. Wasn't easy in those days to take photographs!

I used to enjoy a pre match pint, a sarni, and a game of darts in the Minerva. Long gone now.
