No you didn't imagine it, there used to be an 'Exiles, Away Blades and Social' section, not sure what happened to it

Just seen this on twitter for all those overseas :

https://www.efl.com/iFollow/international-broadcasters/

Frustratingly the live games WILL NOT be live on iFollow:
https://www.efl.com/broadcast-schedule/

So the iFollow subscription for those of us overseas is not as attractive as it seems. So illegal streams and VPN connection to sky sports it is then....

(sorry Foxy if this is in the wrong section, did i imagine that there used to be an expats section?)

Only 2 games between now and October, hardly the worst value and they are on sky sports anyhoo

The Sky Sports point is irrelevant for those outside the UK if they want to stay within the law...

There are 3 Blades games, (but perhaps other games that we'd want to view, but can't as they're not on iFollow).

3 - Boro, Pigs, Dingles.

If the Football League was going to do a subscription service, why not make it available for all games instead of making the games exclusively available to their international partners.

It forces people to then find illegal streams

Sky sports was just an example, each part of the world should have some regional channel that they can watch it on.

I agree that the blackout should only really apply to those countries which have a channel showing it, for instance, Spain (or even Gibraltar) isnt even on the list, so if a game is blacked out, I have no legal way of watching it despite paying for the iFollow season pass. Will all boil down to the same thing, Money!

But why black it out if you have a subscription service.... thats surely the point of the subscription service? Eurosport works online in this way

Same issue for Cyprus its partner is on the list, but no idea of the channel

Its daft but im guessing that these companies such as BEIN (I think they have the rights this year?) pay a fuck ton of money so that no one else is allowed to show them. Bonkers I know. How long before a TV deal includes a clause that no one is allowed in the ground to watch as thats 30,000 potential subscribers lost ;)

Yeah and that is a drip down from the Premier League deals of years gone by...

However, football is supposedly a game for the people (I know this because FIFA Head Infantini says so on a big billboard at Basra Airport) so shouldn't these things be driven first by giving access to the people so that everyone gets an opportunity to watch via a multitude of media platforms and then latterly when the deals are done with TV companies, this is the first consideration. Not how much they can rinse out of fans

I've just bought a box from viewtvabroadinabox.com and subscribed to the Sky package. Hoping it works, I have a mates with one and they seem to rate it.

It looks like beIN sports haven't got the rights anymore (no EFL on beIN this weekend and none listed on beIN at livesoccertv.com), so at least here in Australia there might not be any blacked out games!

ESPN are showing some games in the USA from the EFL this weekend
