I hope Stearman is a good partner for JOC, but not completely convinced, so here's hoping he delivers for us......

Maybe I'm being a tad cynical but I have a suspicion that we may have Paddy McCarthy Mk 2, but I'll suspend my concerns and allow Stearman to prove me wrong. In short, Wilder's assessment of a player is better than mine so here's to a sound and reliable defensive partnership this coming season.

I think he's the perfect partner for our side. He's only ever played championship standard (so I believe). So if our players are better than him then that stands us in good sted.

He's got experience, played alongside some good central defenders and has a vast knowledge of the league.

If Wright gets ahead of him then so be it. The best players will play here and we know that for a fact.

Happy to back Wilders judgement but I wonder if he's been playing in a flat back four recently because positionally he doesn't look quite at the races at the moment. Here's hoping he beds in quicker when the season starts. I'm sure his experience at this level can only benefit JOC and Bash long term

Yes. Stearman's played well over double the games in the championship than Collins did though.

He's only ever played championship standard (so I believe).

He had one season in Leauge 1 when Wolves were relegated (2013/14) and played 40 games.

He has also played 77 games in the Prem between 2009-12.
