Fast Pour Sytem tho - has to be a big bar que improvement for us who like a half-time swift-un with an auld work colleague
Quick beer & chat

We had a fast pour dispense system on our last prem Warnock fucked up visit. Didn't make a jot of difference. Fuckwit staff and fuckwit managers. Compass need sacking off.

This has created a more positive and excitng thread than any of our signings so far, keeping us sweet with this news I'll tell yer, in the next half an hour it'll be " brookes gone shocker"

As I have Italian relatives we have been drinking Moretti for over 20 years, & I will be in 2 weeks time. In the south they pay about 1 - 1.5 euro a bottle at the bars, & even cheaper in the supermercato! Yet here it is seen as a premium beer along with Peroni & Nastro Azurro, which are also cheap in Italy. The Italians view them as we view Carling & John Smiths.

Rip off Britain rules Britannia!

Sheffield United F.C. has agreed a new pouring rights partnership with the UK leading beer and cider business, HEINEKEN.

The agreement will see HEINEKEN being given the exclusive pouring rights at Bramall Lane for the next three years, and will bring a range of HEINEKEN’s brands, including Heineken ® , Amstel, Fosters’, John Smith’s, Birra Moretti, Bulmers and Strongbow across the stadium concourse bars and into hospitality areas. A selection of craft ales will also be available in hospitality areas and on the John Street concourse.

Speaking of the new partnership SUFC Head of Commercial Paul Reeves said: “Heineken has a long track record of supporting football on a global scale and is currently the official beer of the UEFA Champions League, alongside being the official partner of a number of Premier League Teams and EFL Championship Teams.

Paul continued “At the Club, we continue to look at ways in which we can improve the matchday experience for our fans before, during and after the game and this collaboration with a drinks brand who strive for the same levels of excellence allows us to ensure supporters in our concourse and hospitality areas are able to enjoy quality products. This announcement represents another high-profile partnership for Sheffield United with a truly global, best-in-class brand.”

Duncan Barlow, Regional Sales Director for HEINEKEN, said: “We have been a supporter of professional football for many years. This, together with our shared commitment to provide excellent match day experiences means HEINEKEN is a natural partner for Sheffield United”.

HEINEKEN will be supporting the improvement of a number of the bars around the Stadium and will also create branded areas and adult fan activities to support the match day experience.

General Manager for Levy Restaurants UK Greg Smith who will oversee the match day catering operations at Bramall Lane said: “Taking into account feedback from our supporters, we are delighted to be able to offer our fans the opportunity to enjoy draught beer from the Heineken fast-pour equipment which means that drinks can be served at twice the speed of standard dispense equipment.

Greg continued, “The Heineken fast-pour tap system will enable a perfect pint to be served between eight and nine seconds, allowing fans to enjoy super chilled beer and cider with the aim of reduced queuing time on the concourses”.

The new facilities will be fully installed for the first game of the season when the Blades will take on Brentford for the start of the 17/18 Championship campaign.

Heineken is the Manchester United of the brewing world. Supported on a worldwide basis by undiscriminating idiots who are sucked in by publicity.

My Italian mate calls Peroni, Builders Beer, he couldnt beleive it was a premium lager over here

Heineken on draught in the UK used to be a different beer to 'proper' Heineken, with an ABV of about 3.4%. In the UK 'proper' Heineken used to be called Heineken Export (5%) and was only sold in bottles. Wonder which BDTBL is getting?

Also, stating the obvious, if John Smiths is part of the deal, cant we get Magnet on the pumps? Love a drop of Magnet mesen!

I don't think the Aussies drink Fosters either.

Haven't had Heineken for years but isn't it 5% over here now rather than the 3.4% it used to be?

STILL no proper beer...

There must be room somewhere for Kelham Island, Abbeydale or even that one on Shoreham St that's gone into receivership..

I'd even crowd fund it. I reckon even in restricted amounts it would be a clear sell. Get em in.

Proper fans deserve proper beer...

So when you tap a barrel of cask what is the shelf life? Do you know?

I do

Stick a hard peg in overnight, you may get five days once it has been tapped. How often do the Blades play at home?

I do, that's why you limit the barrelage to under what you can sell. Brighton do it v well, Chesterfield do it in a weird one man band contraption and we did it at the Wolves centenary. Yes, it needs care, love and attention. But fexk me it would be good to get a decent pint in the ground...

Get your cask ale in a pub before you get to the ground. Inside the ground, it's a money pit.

Factor in the fact that people constantly moan about how long it takes to get served (off the top of my head I would say twice as long to hand pull a pint of cask) rather than turning a tap on to pour a pint of Carling Heineken or whatever, it's a non starter. No offence intended.

Sentinel on Shoreham Street has not gone into receivership.

Lets not knock it until we've tried it, eh?

We've been almost universally critical of the service at the Lane - somebody's been listening and it seems changes have been made. It's a positive start.

Tha's ever tried John Smiths?

Fosters, John Smiths and Strongbow, it's why pubs are shutting.

Shit, the bar staff could always wear the blue away shirt and totally fuck up everyones day.

The article from The Star never said they were closing, that statement from Sentinel doesn't say they aren't insolvent.

The owner even posted a video online explaining the situation at the time. Video posted to their Facebook page on 9th June.

You're right, hope they can sort something out as their beer is pretty good.

Tranmere Rovers have Beavertown on draught apparently. Total hipsters.
