If you get over the fact it's a Leeds fan that has done it, some of those are pretty funny and well written

Hodges was a damn good loan signing and one that worked out just as well as a permanent.

Brayford, cracking loan, shame about the rest.

Matt Philips was fucking awesome as well, oh and Billy Clarke in the same season.

There's some we have probably all forgotten/erased from our memories.

I actually think that David Cotterill was the best loanee I've personally seen. Brilliant in his initial spell.
Not so much once we signed him.

Bruce Rioch 1979, 8 games only, but lifted the team singlehanded. In dispute with Tommy Docherty hench the loan. An amazing loan that couldn't last, off course. We were relegated that spring in 1979, worst leagueposition ever at the time.( our worst was 11th in the second till that dreadfull season that started the great slide)

Particularly the one about Warnock dropping Ross Barkley to accommodate Michael Brown. You can easily believe it!

Geoff Salmons 1977 - 5 games, an attempt to strenghten.

Hmm

13. Geoff Horsfield

Signed as Rob Hulse’s replacement, Horsfield scored twice in six months before Dennis Wise decided not to take up the option to sign the striker on a permanent deal.

Actually, that list's a good read :)

Lifted the team? Are you serious? He was terrible - looked like he didn't want to be here and like he didn't give a toss. I remember an away match - Bury, possibly - when he took up a position wide right and did nothing all game apart from look bored. As you say, we got relegated that season.

Apart from that, I agree with you.

A lad called Michael Brown wasn't a bad loan signing by Mr Warnock ?

Bobby Davison ... well what can you say ... legend .

Andy Reid , Matty Philips , Brayford , ... all performed well a blades shirt

I think nowadays you've gotta get the right type of player in on a loan , to many mercenaries now who will come in not give a fuck or be up for the fight as they know when the loans up the're out of there .. ie. last championship relegation !

I remember the other Bruce Rioch. He was shite.

Andy Reid, don't make 'em like that these days......great player for us, if you've got a decent forward that's a winning combination with Reid supplying the ammo.

My view based on 100 years by Dennis C, never saw him in a red'n white, but we did pick up points in the games he played, after he left we lost almost all games. Probably the rest of the team wanting to impress 'the star'
