Unfortunately it's not a joke it's the market, just like you can't buy a 3 bed semi for 50k anymore. Time has moved on and the amount of money swimming around in football is unbelievable for us oldies . We can stand on the sidelines moaning or taking the p1ss but if we don't get someone in with real money any success Wilder achieves will be despite the board not because of it.

I know what you mean but just because clubs are quoting daft money doesn't define 'the market'. Compared to Barkley, Kyle Walker at £54m looks sane. So does Lukaka as proven goal scorers will always be worth big money. John Stones at £47m for a very average 'stopper' was lunacy.

In fairness its never going to do that, but if people have a perception that we're skint, then they can stick to blaming McCabe/ the Prince for not putting their hands in their pockets instead of looking at unobtainable targets.
