what it does do it raises our profile all clubs coming to us would take us more seriously if we had a marquee defender in our back 4 I think billy and ched are marquee enough as a front line.. the simple question to ask is would he make us a better team(the answer is yes) so everything from that point is logistics if he will come

I'll believe this one when I see it.

This would be a massive signing and would really show other potential signings that we mean business.

He may be getting on a bit, but he's still got plenty to offer, especially at Championship level.

As long as he's not on silly wages that disturbs the equilibrium in the squad I'm all for this. We need experience and any lack of pace due to his age will be compensated by the other young CBs beside him.

From Jags' point of view he may also be looking at future possibility of coaching roles so a step down could be attractive for him.

O'Connell for one will become even better with an old head beside him (look at the influence Wright had on him). Jags also fits our style of play and can create forward play from the back.

he's a class act, be amazing if we pull this off.

I doubt it'll happen. I think he'll remain at Everton till he retires, then move into coaching – they often reward their ex-players with coaching roles, and I expect the same will happen with Jagielka. He remains one of the players I've most enjoyed seeing play for us, and while I've no doubt he looks back fondly on his time here I doubt he is motivated to end his career with us. Unlike someone like Walker, he isn't a fan of the club. He was at Everton's academy, and has spent more of his career at Everton than he spent it with us, plus has been their captain for several years.

If he was willing to return, I'd be all for it. But I don't see this as being remotely likely. I could however see a 35 year old Kyle Walker coming back to us in 8 years time...

For me, remains one of the best CBs in the PL.

Has lost a yard but still remains pretty nimble on his pins.

Far better signing for any Championship side than JT would be and would become the best CB in the Championship, by a country mile, overnight.

Fuck all chance this will come off btw.

Would love Jags to come back if he was willing to take that huge pay cut

Can't see these rumours being anything other than a pisstake though

Would be a class signing for the Championship and for us. When I watched him play in the last few games for everton he was one of there best players. People who don't want him back need there head testing.
