Another highgreener here, but lived away from there nearly twenty years. Will try and pick up a badge next time I'm back! Cheers to all you HG Blades!

I don't pal, I've moved to barnsley.
Inbox me your address and when I'm up High Green seeing some family il post you one of my spares.

Even better then mate, as an Elsecar Blade I suppose I'm from the Pig End and not a million miles away from you, and, you've moved to Barnsley. I'd like a badge, but would you save one for me because I'm in France until end of August. I'm also a kopite I could come down to your seat first chance I get and introduce mysen. If I'm too late at least I tried

Oops just seen the previous message ! N'eer mind eh

All gone

I'm from Ecclesfield (before Hastings obvs) - near enough for me, how do I get this little gem?

I'm preaching I suppose, but it's certainly not a full blown blades crusade mate, because believe me- barnsley is a lost cause! In more ways than one!

UTB

He's not the only missionary PRAISE THE BLADE
Agree about Barnsley though

Yep sorry pal. It's a mate of mine that made them(the lads with the flag).
I only moved to hoyland originally mate but I've moves much, much deeper and darker now.
If anymore are made you'll be the first to know shag (hope they use that in your posh part) ;)

Sat nav Steve and his lads have had them made. I know the flag belongs to 7-8 of them but I know it's them that had the badges made up.
We are in the minority but there's a lot more blades in S35 than you'd expect. We are more undercover than out shithouse gobby neighbours, and the blades I do know from high green and chap tend to be really hardcore fans.
It's so depressing talking about how great our fans are and how they spread across the whole county at a time when our team is as bad as it currently is.

Might be more than you think fella looking at this thread!
Looking at this we could all meet up and 'take the Acorn' one Friday evening!! ;-)
Burncross is where 'its at' though, pal !

I will have to rethink my profile name at this rate. We are spreading like wildfire. Burnscoss? Wherever next? Grenoside!? (That's the least likely I could think of)

Another high green blade here. On dowland estate and I know at least 5 neighbours on next couple of roads who are all blades. We even have a huddersfield fan on here. Been nice chatting loudly in street with him over last couple of weeks

Moved from chap to thurgoland , so another one here , also met another blade in thurgoland, also talk to morgan regularly, so were spreading the gospel

Lad who had them made is only on Dowland Gardens mate so there's a chance it its him you've been laughing with about Wednesdays demise.
My grandad lived on Tavener and was a Collosal blade, saying that I'm originally from Farnaby gardens.
I'm sure that whole estate was full or piggies growing up, wow things have changed.

Not seen it for a few weeks but easier to notice when nights were darker. It's quite bold but a really fitting pathetic, embarrassing effort in the window of a house just up from the chippy
Hahahaha no!!!! I will certainly look out for it though.
That is sooooo Wednesday, and unfortunately sooo high green as well.

Kevin williams (think that's right) butchers still have a United badge outside?

Plenty of High Green and Chap Blades. Had this badge for a couple of years from when Steve first had them made. I'm a Blade because the Rose Inn (now closed) was a SUFC supporters club in the 70's and my dad used to drink in there.

Are there any pubs left up there? The Rose Eh? It seems weird that we would have a supporters club in high green. This thread shows there's a lot more high green blades than I'd originaly thought but a supports club? I never knew that.
I always had a soft spot for the Rose by the way. First pub I took our lass in.

Ended up going to the Barrel at High Green a few times during the '07 to watch snide broadcasts of away games. Was rammed with Blades every time.

Good old al jazeera tv.

A few of my school pals were from High Green (St Mary's) and the highlight of this connection was going to their church circa 1977 and often standing next to the guy who was voted Celtic's greatest ever player. A complete legend , possibly only equalled by the great Henrik Larsson. And aged 12 I was taller than him even then.

In the interests of balance(important in these parts) my current object of desire is full weight Rangers bloke Johnny Fleck .....

I think a lot of people have moved into the area in last 20 years especially on this estate. Don't think the piggies have anything like the majority they did. Although of course we are all too polite on here to say anything !

Loads have gone now! Rose Inn gone, Salutation gone, White Hart gone, think Market and Coach and Horses gone, too.

Yet the Phoenix weirdly
still stands.
It'll be a sad day when the pack horse goes, it might not be the best pub in the world but between my family, football, christmas and the arctic monkeys it holds some fantastic memories.

Is that the old Greengate???
Had some times up there with the Family (Wragg's) in the late 70's/ early 80's.

It's on greengate lane pal so probably.
I wasn't around in the 80s though so I only know it as the Pheonix.
It's rough as a bears arse but with everywhere in High Green- has some fantastic blokes in it.

Greengate, Steptoe's, Newgate then Phoenix. Only ever really popular when it was Steptoe's not sure how it's survived when others haven't.
