Can't believe we got just under £1m for Paddy Kenny to QPR - great business that IMO

I don't think we paid over £2mil for Dellas (or any where near that sum)

Also Petr Rudi played for the piggies and not us.

I doubt the accuracy of the site.

Those figures are misleading since the Bosman rule came in.

For example it says we've spent nothing on Fleck and Hammond (both free transfers)
But of course both players were given massive wages, amongst our top earners, so were expensive signings.
It also says we only spent £599K on Billy Sharp but he was also given big wages.

Regards free transfers
the player agents make sure that any notional transfer valuation is simply added into the player salary,
so indirectly we do still pay a transfer fee but it's paid to the player, not the selling club.

It also looks as if by the time they got back to about 1980 they couldn't be bothered. This was when 'Happy' Harry was buying and selling players just about every week!
Where do they get their information from? Probably just old newspaper reports. And if that's not available then they just guess. I can't think of another way to do it.

I recall Davy G alongside Andy Woodward booting the ball resolutely out of play as the mighty Crewe attacked at the Lane.
Great manager was Colin W
