Those figures are misleading since the Bosman rule came in.

For example it says we've spent nothing on Fleck and Hammond (both free transfers)
But of course both players were given massive wages, amongst our top earners, so were expensive signings.
It also says we only spent £599K on Billy Sharp but he was also given big wages.

Regards free transfers
the player agents make sure that any notional transfer valuation is simply added into the player salary,
so indirectly we do still pay a transfer fee but it's paid to the player, not the selling club.

Loads of omissions and errors throughout.

No sign of us signing Keith Edwards in 1981. Sale of Sabella listed as £1.02m when it was more like £400k are just 2 examples but there are many many others.

It also looks as if by the time they got back to about 1980 they couldn't be bothered. This was when 'Happy' Harry was buying and selling players just about every week!
