Maybe I'm just becoming a little overly nostalgic in my old age, but if ever this happened to BDTBL, I don't think I'd ever get over it.
This is all that's left of White Hart Lane.

I don't care what shiny new stadium with posh clothes shops on site you give me, it just ain't worth it in my opinion.
Beautiful Down Town Bramall Lane, home of the Mighty Blades. Please, please let's keep it that way.

spot on i saw i pictures of white hart lane on Tuesday/Wednesday after the finale. i thought same i couldnt imagine how horrible it must be if that was us

True......sad sad......people Iove the nostalgia and memories

But once they're in the new stadium players and fans will be blown away.
Usually new stadiums receive very positive feedback and it's classed as a great decision.
(Apart from West Ham supporters, feedback seems to be negative with many preferring Upton
Park).

I'd also prefer never to leave Bramall Lane.

Earlier this week there were two threads advocating knocking half the stadium down to rebuild it. A new kop, a new new stand with more corporate, knocking down BL and building over the fucking road. Even turning the pitch round.

The Lane is nowt like it was in 1970 and it appears we want to totally redevelop it whilst keeping it just like it was.

We should go back to our roots and have cricket pitch back.

Bramall Lane' s the only stadium to host a cup final and an Ashes test.

Me Grandma saw Bradman score a century at the Lane. Now that's a claim the Pigs can't make about Swillsborough

I wouldn't say no to having their new main stand up here...

Have they had an end of season friendly against Millwall?

I only visited White Hart Lane once. It was an evening match when we were in the Premiership. I was working in London at the time. Two things stick in my mind:
1) A smartly dressed young woman was sitting just in front of me, along with some equally smart men in suits - they had obviously come straight from work. I thought to myself that we were in for a pleasant evening - no vulgar riff raff. How wrong I was. As the teams came out she immediately screamed at the ref: "Your a c**t!", and then she turned her attention to the Spurs players, with equally foul-mouthed venom. She kept it up throughout the match, to the point where several of her male friends asked her to tone it down.
2) Chas and Dave sang at half-time. Not a pleasant experience.

I can't remember anything about the game but I think Spurs probably won.

Should have kept the pavilion. It would have been fantastic for functions etc. knocked it down for a shitting car park. Almost criminal.

I think you're probably right BB!

Didi we ever win there?
I remember we didn't win ANYWHERE in London for years!!

I remember Early nineties game we won 2-1or 2-0 I think.Definite win cos we went with a Tottingham fan and I will never forget the grumpy expression she wore having been defeated by some tin pot club from Yorkshire haha.

Hasn't the Oval done this too?

things change

spurs have to compete so have to expand, and that stand has to be bulldozed so they can turn the pitch

Its not like they are moving, far about 100 meters

Nostalgia doesnt pay footballers wage demands so theres no place for it

lets get our kop ripped out and start from ground zero , do it right for once

Its all about memories......us older heads have great memories of the old kop, old john st etc, fa cup nights and pitch invasions. But from another point of view. A young un must come to the lane and think, this is a bit shit, even rovrums ground is nicer. And those young uns dont have the memories apart from lifting the trophy this season. Apart from that, theyve had half their life watching blades playing shit teams infront of 15k odd gates at a tatty old ground. I personally wouldnt mind a new ground at its current location. New memories would be made and old ones are never forgotten. We arent Wendy's, they live in the past, footballs changing and clubs have to go with it. UTB

Not sure that will make a big enough difference to easily wave goodbye to years of tradition and that feeling of home so respectfully admired by visiting supporters almost as much as us.

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR

Accounts for the year to 30 June 2014

Turnover 6th highest, £181m (up from £147m in 2013)

Match receipts £35m

TV and media £90m

All commercial activities £56m

I have fantastic memories of the entire John Street stand and terrace rising in acclaim as we thrashed Cardiff 5-1 . but Id like newer memories of a full 2 tier kop rising as we beat Chelsea in front of 42000 in 2 or 3 years time

but spurs wont attract a larger global market without having a super stadium
in which to wow visitors

We won there 2-1 if memory serves, the match after beating the pigs 2-0 when Whitehouse and Deane scored.

Tell the man with the JCB when he's finished his next job is at the sty and to crack on with it and when he's finished ask for a bloke called forest fairy who will pay him well.

4 new sides to a ground, i'd be more gutted about leaving the area rather than the ground, the Kop and John St have changed since i started supporting the Blades, if we made it back to the PL and sustained our place for a couple of seasons i'd see the need for more corporate boxes.

Had to be done. Spurs can almost double their average attendance.

And it's on the same site pretty much so the fans will be taking the same journey and going in the same pubs etc. Can't see it being that much different to stadia where they demolish stands and rebuild completely.
