And you know what's really sad, when he gets out and someone offers him a contract he won't get a fraction of the shit Evans had threw at him.

Despite multiple convictions, despite being genuine scum rather than just being daft, despite being worse than Evans in every single way.
Unless things change, when Ranger gets out he will still be a Southend United player on a 3.5 yr contract. Unless we sack him obviously. Chairman hasn't made his mind up yet.

Eek, Officer Krupke, you've done it again
This boy don't need a job, he needs a year in the pen
It ain't just a question of misunderstood
Deep down inside him, he's no good

I guess would be able to terminate the contract as a criminal offence is I am guessing gross misconduct even by football standards?

Nile is a serious marmite character at Southend. All of his bad criminal stuff was all done before he signed for the club and therefore they knew what he had been up to before he signed, (apart from having a bit of a weekend sniff of cocaine before his trial obviously!!) that got him a 4 match suspension from the FA, but hey, that could happen to anyone? To be fair to the guy he has settled in well with the squad, done a fair bit of community work in the borough and when he has approached anywhere near full fitness, he has been almost unplayable and scoring goals. My guess is that he will appeal his sentence of 8 months, and if he is successful we will persevere with him. The marmite bit comes from the fact that you just don't know when he will do bad stuff again so here endeth the Ranger update. Still want to sign him to partner Ched? Now that would make a fearsome front two. Bung us £3/4 mill for Nile and Lenny and I'm sure we would do you a deal. I'm quite partial to marmite by the way.

Quite a funny story told to me by a Blackpool fan about Ranger. Apparently, during a pay dispute there, he tweeted that he couldn't afford to fill his fridge. So a fan tweeted back "well buy a smaller fridge then"

The pay dispute was that Ranger had signed a contract with Blackpool which was seriously incentivised (appearances, goals, wins etc) but basically left him on minimum wage - ie £7 per hour - as a basic. He'd acted like a bit of a prat - if memory serves he'd been on strike - so Blackpool took up an option to extend his deal without having any intention of playing him.

Even if he doesn't appeal it he'd only serve 4 months before being released on licence. That puts him back on the streets of Essex in September so he'd only miss a couple of games...until he reoffends and gets his licence revoked.

Yeah that was the info I got Balham. Couldn't have been that much in the poor house though, he was still driving round Blackpool like he owned the place.

On 25 January 2013, Ranger was arrested on suspicion of rape in a Newcastle hotel room.[47] In connection with the same alleged offence, Ranger was charged with rape on 8 July 2013.[48] On 4 March 2014 he was cleared of the charge at Newcastle Crown Court.[49]

On 14 March 2013, Ranger was charged with common assault after an incident in Newcastle city centre.[50]

On 23 March 2014, Ranger was arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage to a taxi in Liverpool.[51] He later pleaded guilty to criminal damage and was fined £1,000 and was ordered to pay compensation to the taxi driver for breaking a window. Ranger said that he was enraged by being called a rapist by the driver.[6]

On 28 April 2014 Ranger was charged with criminal damage after an incident at a block of flats in Swindon on 13 April.[52] He was later fined for damage to the door of his flat in relation to this incident which was captured on CCTV, in an incident where he additionally appeared to strike his female companion three times on the face.[7]

In May 2014, Ranger was found not guilty of being drunk in charge of his vehicle, after being found asleep in the driver's seat of his car on the M4 motorway.[53]

In December 2016, Ranger was charged with conspiracy to defraud and conspiracy to commit money laundering, in respect of offences alleged to have been committed in February 2015.[54] In January 2017, he pleaded guilty to conspiracy to defraud atWood Green Crown Court.[55] On 23 May 2017, he was sentenced to eight months in prison.[56]

I can see him doing serious time once his career is over. He'll do an armed robbery or start dealing crack. He'll either end up doing a long stretch or someone will just shoot the twat.

Ffs why is this dick head in the rumour section, surely it should be in the other football section this wanker has got fuck all to do with United. The person who put this as a player suggestion is either a moron or a pig. I suppose it's the same thing really. Forum police this is a dereliction of duty, sort it out!
