If we replace our team with players worth one million pounds or less have we really iproved the squad, I think not. If we are to lift the team we will have to spend big not cheap.

Not necessarily. Although their transfer fees are poles apart from ours, Arsene Wenger has spent relatively little on his teams, in comparison to other upper end of the Premiership clubs.

We don't have to spend big, but we do have to spend smart.

Which way do you want it, spend big and risk breaking the bank (which we won't do) or try to bring in quality at the right price. If your statement is true we have no chance at all of improving the squad. Are you saying you wouldn't like to see any of those players in a Blades shirt. :cry2:

I think that is a decent list of players.

When you think about it we probably did miss out on alot of players this summer. Also alot of the clubs mentioned probably pay less in wages than we do aswell.

Looking down that list and discounting all that aren't midfielders, and then discounting all those above 30, there isn't much there that would add very much to the squad. Take out Buzsaky, who was already on loan there and wouldn't come to us and they all seem to be of a similar level. Unearth a diamond or pay for one seems to be the message from this list and unearthing diamonds takes a great deal of mining!!

I agree we have had far worse times, but let examine how attractive we really are, we have a stadium equal to just about anything in this league, last season we were the No 1 supported team in this league, we have top training facilities, we own clubs all over the world if it's all so rosey can anyone give me a good reason why we have failed to attract a quality midfielder under 30 year old over the last five years. The only answer I can come up with is ££££s and very poor scouting levels.
