Re Ched money

He has cost us £150k and is on £4K a week UTB

It's a weird situation to give a genuine valuation.
Ched based on last year is worth £2K max, Ched based on 5 years ago is worth £10 to £15K a week. He's potentially lower PL standard and our best striker.

Anybody with any sense during negotiations would make the transfer and salary performance related. So makes total sense to pay a modest basic salary (with incentives if he performs to his potential).

Surprised?

Me?? No not really.
Folk on here have been overestimating player salaries forever. With a bit of perspective....just think back to the days Blackwell issues new contracts to Morgan and Monty. Terrified they would walk....and insisting they were the backbone of a successful side he insisted the club paid them what they wanted.
Needless to say, they both made more money than they were worth getting 10k a week!

So, 4K a week seems good value to me.

Not read too much but have seen the article on the sufc site and I don't an endorsement on this deal from wilder. Will have to wait till we hear a radio interview. Certainly looks like he will be wanting to get a first choice striker and that Evans is an option

That being said if what sunji is saying right then it's not costing a lot to look.

Wilder's endorsement:
"The signing is just one element of the plans we have drawn-up for next season. We have done our homework on the player. We pride ourselves on team spirit - as the fans have seen this season - and plan to bring in players who can be part of that.

"Ched comes to us with targets to achieve along the way. With a full pre-season with us we believe he can provide us with options up front and score goals."

As I said, I read that however it's not a ringing endorsement for me

Wilder aint gonna big up Ched .......... he is just another player, or least that is the way he is playing it

Leon, Billy and Ched up front should be interesting, 3 at the back, 3 terriers in midfield, and Carruthers feeding the front 3

Cant wait :)

If anyone is desperate to rebuild there career it's Ched. We want players who are trying to excel themselves and Ched fits right in

Exactly. Whilst he isn't young, he'll definitely have this "hunger" people like to bang on about. He also has the ability in there, it's down to the management team to extract that. I can't imagine we've paid a fortune for him and doubt his wages will be huge. I can see this being a shrewd signing. I hope I'm right.

Ched not Chef sorry
