It is. However, you don't have anything to offer about the wonderful playing surface and its inability to work its magic on last years setup.
You still won't admit that it has less to do with the pitch and everything to do with one Christ Wilder, his team recruitment, selection, strategy and the fact that McCabe hasn't sold anyone so crucially vital that it would damage the momentum. No. To you, it's all about the pitch. Even the games we won away.
Incidentally, the pitch is clearly in view on every highlights package and live game I choose to view, at my leisure. This is anther matter you haven't quite worked out either, isn't it? You are the forum's Diane Abbot and I claim my £5.
pommpey
You still wittering on?
I thought KM sold 3 players? Or was that Mr Wilder?
It's very simple you know.
If we had a pitch like we had prior to the posh one....i.e. The one that was a boggy mess through winter, covered in sand with hardly any grass on it, then we would be playing on that surface half the time...or to put it another way 23 games.
Thankfully, there aren't that many shocking surfaces in league one, some because they too have a fancy desso, others because their drainage is good, some don't have huge stands blocking out the little sun we get in winter lay blah blah....so we haven't had to play on a crappy surface all that much.
So....if our current quality players had a surface like Oldham to play on every week (and we have in the past if you had noticed)....would they be able to produce the quality of football they have this season? Probably not given the display at Oldham. Would fatigue have more of an impact running on a heavy surface? Yes it would. Would injuries be more likely if the surface is uneven? Absolutely.
Would good footballers want to come and play on the beach? Or would they look elsewhere to show off their talents?
Last year had one huge factor affecting everyone's ability to play on the pitch....a fuckwit.
A fuckwit called Adkins, who had no clue tactically, no clue on recruitment and instead alienated and pissed off the few decent footballers it seems we had all along but very few noticed.
You just cannot accept that funding the pitch with the FA cup money was a sound decision rather than allowing the manager at the time blow the cash on another player incapable of reaching their potential due to the fuckwittery displayed by the manager.
That investment....which will pay for itself eventually BTW, has been a factor in this seasons success. A factor....not the only reason, the main reason but one of the many reasons. Just to avoid any twisting of comments to suit an agenda.
No. Do pay attention. I said 'that had any impact', much the same as the flogging of (say for example) Murphy, Macdonald, Lowton et al had on our on-field output. I can keep saying the same thing over, and over and over again if you want. It won't change the fact that they were sold and it fucked up our chances. The season just gone it didn't happen and we ran away with it. You can try to shoehorn the pitch into there somewhere, but the fact we won away kinda cancels both sides of the equation, doesn't it? Oh, and we did lose at home on the Desso, too.
Bolton have a Desso don't they? How did we get on there ... {checks} ... oh, we lost. Twice.
Hmmm. Hate to keep 'wittering on' here but your 'absolutes' have no proof or data to back them up. The only injury from the Oldham match was Lavery was it not? And that was from a goalmouth scuffle, not down to the playing surface. Do you have any ITK background information on player's injuries at all?
Oh. I see. So Wilder's dealbreaker was ... the Desso. Not the chance to play under a manager who clearly knows his shit?
Last season we also had ... a Desso pitch. It must have been the dealbreaker for Adkins too to bring players like Woolford and Hammond in.
You mention 'it will pay for itself' and twisting comments to suit an agenda. This is rich coming from a quarter who can't put any palpable explanation forward as to why we were singularly shit on the same playing surface last season (so this season's fantastic success has nothing to do with the Desso) why we were successful away from home this season (because Wilder knows his shit and the players are playing for the badge) and lastly, what the bleeding financial haemorrhage exactly was in dozens of lost games causing an unbelievable fixture pile up come April year upon year which cost the club so much in our league status. Sure, it must be fuck ace to play on and we have been brilliant this year. Can you honestly tell me, looking at the performances away from home alone that we would be five points less this season if we didn't have the Desso?
It's great to have, no doubt, but lets not kid ourselves what it cost, FA Cup money ... Murphy ... smashed the piggy bank or whatever it was or wasn't.
pommpey
Grizzly, you're ignoring the important part here. Pommpey is a WUM. No matter how reasoned and valid your arguments he will just carry on sitting behind his keyboard spouting Desso vitriol...1. How do you know how the sales would have faired? Adams? DCL...Ramsdale? All gone to higher levels than us, at good fees too. On the one hand you hammer him for selling then ignore sales of players for big fees to other clubs higher than us. Why do they have to have had any impact to matter. They must be as good or better than what we have by the very fact they have gone up the ladder.
And the fa cup run paid for the desso BTW.
2. Bolton....first game of the season when as you won't have seen we were still getting to grips...played ok and lost. That side that day was a bit different was it not. Away in the cup...much changed side, didn't deserve to lose.
So that's bollocks.
3. You must lack common sense and reasoning in that brain.
If a pitch is covered in sand....will it be heavier to run on? If the surface is uneven, would a player be more or less likely to tweak an ankle ligament while running at full tilt? If you need an answer, ask someone who has played football at any level.
As for insider info I will mention some experience...I have a son who is at an academy going into U/18 football. His head coach is an ex pro, and has managed at league football. He often discusses the surface as part of his pre game plans....I wonder if he's a visionary or if this is commonplace??
4. How many points did we get an Oldham this season? If that was our home pitch, would we knock the ball about like we do at home? Simple question....again I know the common sense and logical answer from a spectator of those games would be..."No" but you can say yes if it suits your agenda, and because admitting you are talking bollocks is impossible for you particularly.
We won away...yes we did, you noticed well done. Were all those away surfaces poor? Or did you ignore the point made about some pitches being ok....while ours was ALWAYS considered poor by us and our opponents in the past.
5. Again, as mentioned, you ignore the point about the pitch being a factor, and less surprisingly choose to mention again that last seasons players couldn't play on it. Fact is...they couldn't play! I believe I described a certain fuckwit in the equation which must have gone over your head.
It's very simple. You want it to be harder.
The club states that the pitch pays for itself, and as all companies this is crucial when investing monies on such things....it's like new stands...improving the superstore, changing the platinum suite, the bars...all costed and projected properly to justify the initial outlay. If you seriously think that KM will operate in a haphazard and amateurish way when it comes to business you are a bigger fool than you are trying to portray.
So...answer this. If we had Oldhams pitch....like we often have....would our players like Fleck, Coutts, Duffy etc be able to pass the ball and play the football that some of our fans have seen at the lane this season? Would there have been any point bringing those players here in the first place? Because many many fans who go to the lane have commented how the football has been some of the best in generations. And say what you like, but Warnocks big tactic against good teams was to train on the pitch to make it worse....to slow teams down and give us a chance.
Or would we have brought cloggers and hoof merchants instead? I would think our current manager would have adjusted his plans, recruitment and tactics accordingly to play on such a pitch.
Now I could keep repeating these reasoned explanations, however it is becoming very tedious.
It cost a million pounds, a million. No need to kid anyone....it cost a million pounds. Half a Murphy....half a Maguire....half an Adams...a whole Ramsdale and a whole DCL....but a lot more than a Macdonald, about 3 of him. Or a half a 6 round cup run cumlinating in a semi final at Wembley with 40k blades in attendance!

And you have explanations for the questions I have put? Nah. You haven't, have you?
Keep clapping the pitch.
pommpey
I suppose he could argue that he has contributed towards the pitch so is allowed to clap it if he wishes. He could also argue that as you have not contributed anything towards it, you should not criticise it or the decision to lay it.
And you have explanations for the questions I have put? Nah. You haven't, have you?
pommpey
Yay. Mobile Blade's only stock answer retort.
Do you have any explanations, or are you still upset that someone who doesn't (or more correctly 'can't', but what does that matter?) go to games is commenting in a negative manner and answering his critics about the pitch?
pommpey
Oh pommpey. You do need to relax a bit. Find something nice and soft to lie back on. A desso for example.#no idea#cluelesszzzzzzz
pommpey
Just as a postscript, you never answered the question about how many loyalty points you have. Given they have been in place over 10 years, how many do you have?
Oh pommpey. You do need to relax a bit. Find something nice and soft to lie back on. A desso for example.![]()
Go on. Have a log on and see. Last time I checked it was just over 30,000 - I checked so I knew when to buy a ticket for the MK Dons game. Gonna miss a few games in September actually so if you want to borrow any to actually go to a game, let me know. You will need to pay though.I don't really know, to be honest Mobile. Is it relevant? I mean, how many do you have? Can I borrow some? It obviously counts as to how right you are about things and if you chose to ignore explaining stuff.

Oh, B.Lade. You need to stop trying to muscle in on debates, unless you have something to contribute. Here, have some real grass to chew on ...
pommpey
Does sand all over a football pitch make it
Does an uneven playing surface make it
When other teams have come to the lane and played well, is it because...
Kell Brook fight. How much is that bringing into the club? Could that have been held if we were digging up the pitch again as we did every friggin summer?
How much does a full renovation of the playing surface cost every summer?
If it takes 10 years, 20 years to get the initial outlay back in savings then what is the problem? Yes, we could have offered the money to Murphy to stay down in league one....or maybe let Madkins spend it on more of his shit ex players....but none of those would have made any difference to the club.
It would have been another million lost on top of the already lost millions.
So I won't even bother raising questions about whether it would have been a good idea to trust a fuckwit to spend the million pounds on players, or whether the pitch eventually left to Wilder and his team would be a wiser choice. Of course you also choose to ignore that the point about Km was relating to business decisions, not his football ones.
This being a man who is a self made millionaire and very successful businessman. If you think that he, his board and all those other successful businessman spunked a million quid on the pitch without costing it and having a sound business model then there is no hope for you.
You just continue in your own blinkered and misinformed take on how the real world works.
I don't like to just say someone is wrong...but you are. You can't give any evidence or reason for your view, other than your one man crusade to rid Km from the club you claim to support. Though I'm unsure what your definition of support is compared to everyone else's.
Fucking hell.
pommpey
We used to have similar debates about the academy......the narrow minded fools would harp on about here and now....wasted money that should be spent on first team....how wrong they were.

No. It's your mentality which leaves me questioning.
