someone just sent this one in:
To the Head of Channel 5:
We write in the strongest possible sense to complain about the pathetic coverage your channel has given to our team, Sheffield United, this season.
The show has been pathetic all year and we thought this was just general to all teams as we are in the 3rd tier of English football.
However, we were looking forward to the hour (45min) special last night, rightly believing that we would be offered considerable air time as champions of our division by a comfortable distance.
We were expecting that you'd give attention to Bolton who, at the start of play, still had something at stake and potentially, needed to win to be promoted.
However, we have had such a special season and are rightly disgusted that you have not given this the rightful attention our achievements have deserved, either yesterday, or throughout the season.
Surely, our achievements this season merit your cameras presence at our ground where we were presented with the Championship we richly deserved? I would like a sensible answer as to why your T.V. channel has failed to recognise our club, team and managers achievement.
To make it easier for you to comprehend, here are just some of our team and managers achievements:
- Hitting a points target of 100 points
- Champions of the league by 14 points
- 30 goal striker
- league 1 player of the season
- Largest crowd in that division yesterday – 31,003
- Over ½ a million people through the turnstiles this season
- several players in league 1 team of the season including 5 in one team of the season
- Top of our league since New Years Eve and remaining there
- Jake Wright, seemingly unwanted by Oxford United, never finishing in a losing team for SUFC
- Undefeated in last 17 games, including 7 straight victories to the season end
Finally, We have to mention the phenomenal achievements of our manager, Chris Wilder:
- 199 points over 2 seasons
- Manager of League 2 and league 1 team Champions with considerable ease in successive seasons
- Manager of 2016
Surely, your cameras should have pictured more than a flavour of our celebrations?
At least on par with Bolton, who after all, finished in 2nd, coming some considerable distance behind us?
All, I can say again, is that this season we have conducted our footballing business in style, it is a pity Channel 5 has not.
We await your comments and
not just a token reply on this matter.
We will continue to investigate this matter, until we receive a suitable explanation.
I believe this subject should question the production team for this show, who should explain the reasoning behind their coverage.
Yours Faithfully,
