Pre-Match View From Chesterfield

Similar to why Coventry hate us. Both they and Chezzie fans have been shat on from a great height. Just two years ago, Chezzie finished 6th in League One - one place and 2 points behind us. On October 4th 2014, they beat us at Chezzie 3-2. And on 5th May 2015 they drew the last game of the season at BDTBL. The reason why they've plumetted in just 2 seasons? Easy. Their line-ups in those games included Sam Morsy, Sam Clucas, Jay O'Shea, Eoin Doyle etc. All flogged or moved on. A simple lesson I hope the powers-that-be at United have finally learned.

So instead of blaming SISU, Dave Allen etc. it seems easier for the fans of these clubs to have a go at each other. Divide and rule.
As long as I've been alive and for some time before that, Chesterfield have played in the third and fourth divisions; that's what they are, a small town lower league club.

Blades celebrating a promotion….no f..kin thanks….oh and if you do go wear a black suit and tie as it will be the end of season Blunts Death Roll Call for 20 mins delaying ko…in fact that would be only highlight….knowing the’re are less of them than a year ago

All seem a bit cuntish but this one takes the piss! Hope we get 10 past the fuckers!

Having read the comments I was going to post about that comment calling it cuntish.

Thanks for saving me the trouble ;)

...and always will be as long as the board keep cashing in. Same goes for Barnsley. After a superb rise from bottom of League One to promotion last season (sounds familiar), they 'rewarded' their fans by flogging Winnall and Hourihan. They got away with it. For now.

I really hope one of their lot dies on Sunday, because they really can't afford to have even fewer fans. There must be at least one poor bastard due a coronary, considering Chesterfields sub-poverty standards of living.

It's quite strange as being someone who has lived in Chesterfield most of my life and still have a house whilst I'm away I've never understood this view from the supreme race of "Sheffielders".

I can pretty much guarantee as a resident of Chesterfield I have always had a better standard of living than the kind of numpty from Sheffield who makes stupid comments about the town. It's like me driving through the Manor and declaring Sheffield a shithole or walking down Castle Market and assuming everyone in Sheffield stinks of piss, drinks special brew and wears wank clothes.

Granted a trip down Ches high street throws up a fairly high percentage of basket cases, but Fargate isn't exactly brimming with supreme genetics now is it?!

The football fans of Chesterfield are a weird breed and seem to hate Sheffield teams but no more than Barnsley or Rotherham do, it's to be expected from a satellite town, it's envy.

I know Tyler likes to make sure everyone is clear on his view on particular subjects but sometimes it comes across as small mindedness and bigotry, normally then followed up by reasons why he's not small minded or a bigot.

“We’ll be singing loud and clear “Spireite til I die, bring on the deedahs””

The line above speaks volumes for what a "proper" Chesterfield fan is. 10 out of 10.

“why would any self respecting town fan go to this match..beggers belief”

The line above speaks volumes about why Chesterfield are where they are.
Think back to the Blades fans who went all the way down to Swansea last game of the season - got done 3 nil and were applauded by the Swansea fans when leaving. If you were one of those Blades fans, then Sunday, for you, should be even more special.

Err to support your team

They have to cash in. It's simple economics. They just don't have the fan base and attendances to sustain football at a higher level.

I'm guessing your house isn't in St Augustines then ;)

How long have you been away? :)

Agreed. They're on a serious, serious slide, must be very depressing. Still we've had quite enough of our own shite to chew on so I think we deserve our time in the sun, more next year hopefully

What a sick bastard the person is who wrote ......." I daresay the simpleton only mean it in jest. However, he/she has failed to take into account the new additions to the population (births), which could well mean that there are more Blades than a year ago. A basic grasp of population statistics surely isn't beyond our Derbyshire friends? I'll give the benefit of doubt and assume that the use of "the're" is a quirky, non-conventional contraction of "The[re a]re". However, the missed apostrophe in "Blunts" and the use of "less" rather than "fewer" does rather lead one to believe that they are simply a cretin.

I'm surprised they are letting O'Shea play though. Just another bit of shit to rub into their own fans faces. I realise it wont change anything, they will finish bottom anyway, but you can just imagine O'Shea knocking a couple more nails into their coffin ala Peter furkin Withe a few years ago against us.

I spent 7 years in Chezzie before moving to Sheffield at 12. I love the place, and love going back.

Born in Nether Edge but lived in Coal Aston until I was 4, moved to various places in Sheffield before moving to Old Whittington at 11. Been in Chesterfield more or less ever since. I did stay at Rowlinson though and didn't bother swapping schools.

I used to get a bit of stick from Tairn fans but in recent years there seems to be many more Blades over here.

Considering what is being planned on 58 mins on Sunday this is tasteless in every sense!

What a set of bitter bastards

Almost as if they're trying to blame us for their shit demise

If they think after 6 seasons in this God forsaken division means that we should all feel sorry for the bitter wankers, they can just fk off

A few less apes in that picture too.
i would like that post, but as I live in a S40ish postcode, and have intention of moving within the city limits it would be a touch hypocritical.
...but I did laugh out loud.

Giving it large at the start of the season, thinking they were better than they actually are, should have shown more class and I may have some sympathy
