Yes another thread on Ched, this one to sort out the over reactions, the meltdown stops here. 100% of Blades have praised CW and his team and tactics that have delivered the L1 championship and promises to deliver a reight party on Sunday topped off with 100 points.

You all declared you are behind Chris Wilder nows the time to prove they were not platitudes.

If it's true and he sees Ched as a key part of his plans then back him?

Stop dragging the club and fans backwards into disharmony the media and pigs would like to see and get on the Mighty Blades bandwagon to celibrate this club moving forward.

It was quite amusing yesterday to see the range of Unitedites reactions to the Ched news across all forms of social media.....it went from fans heralding his return as the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ to others threatening to return their season tickets....in the end everyone seems to have calmed down and the overriding feeling now appears to be of acceptance as long as it is Chris Wilders wish..

Let's see what happens, he's got to pass a medical first and agree personal terms so the deal is far from sealed......in the meantime we are Champions and a full house on Sunday will see our heroes of this season lift our first major trophy in 35 years so let us all just enjoy the moment and in the immortal words of Frank Gallagher.....formost the most vital necessity is this life is to know how to throw a PARTY

As ever, this isn't about Wilder. We all back the bloke who has turned this club round and made us the champions we are.

Spunking x hundred grand on a footballing pariah and someone who has not shown anything of what he was before his incarceration stinks of McCabe. I don't give a fat fuck if his conviction was quashed, who shagged who or what people think he is all about. His history and association with SUFC has caused this club no end of woe in the past and if it turns out we did spend half a fucking million on him - however people say 'that's fuck all in the Championship' it is half a fucking million - and he spends next season sitting it out on the bench, injured or not even scoring like he has this season - then what?

It is a shake of the dice which does not need to be done. There will be plenty of out of contract options soon to bring to the Lane and integrate with the team, and if the promises are fulfilled, plenty of want-away transferees from bigger, better clubs, fully fit with Champ or PL experience who could move straight in and do the job. People once again are dusting over the implications of this daft, risky move and if it is daft and risky, that isn't how Wilder does his business. All season he has been safe, solid and consistent. No risks.

As said, best Evans gets fit, gets busy and starts shitting silver dollars. He has a lot to prove.

We have had plenty of run-ins over McCabe and I have always defended him but you are 100% spot on here.

Leaving out all the history would we have gambled £500k on a 28 year old injury prone Bury (say) striker who'd had a few years out of the game? Somehow I think not.

I can only hope that CW is comfortable with it and it hasn't caused problems between him and KM. If CW is happy, then that's good enough for me.

Get the signing out of the way now ASAP. Do not let it drag on! Sign him up and let the press have there day/week with it then all will be calm.

Agreed. On balance the view seems to be we don't want/need him, but if it is going to happen anyway let's do it now and move on.

We don't need a full summer of Chedgate, where the media continue to shit stir on an otherwise slow news day. Martin Samuels, come on down!

Why doesn't this have to stink of McCabe?

As much as we can speculate and claim this is all his doing, it could also be that the manager (the guy who's done the best job at this club since Bassett) believes he can get him back to the player he could have been and an integral part of the club next season and beyond.
He may have a very sizeable budget, and saw the fee of 500k max (dependant on appearances and other add ons) with an initial outlay of a mere £150k as good value and worth the risk. Even if he continues to struggle for match fitness, he's an improvement on McNulty and Done for the striker role.

You just look a bitter old man with a long held grudge and hatred of the owner when you put a completely speculative and one sided post full of criticism. Granted, the timing of announcement is off as it detracts from this seasons supremacy, but that hasn't come from United but from elsewhere, and fuelled by the wankstains at Radio Sheffield.
Try to be a little more balanced and don't believe the hype when it's designed to paint the club in a bad way.
Half full.....United have paid 150k for an ex international striker of past quality that needs getting back on track. Wilder has managed to do similar with players who cost far more....Coutts for example, and if he DOES become the top player he once was we pay Chezzy the remainder of the 500k.

Don't worry Grizzly, when Ched scores his first goal at the Lane next season I'll take a picture of him celebrating spread-eagled on the Desso and send it to Pommpey!

The picture will be worth a fortune, as he'll then be sold to pay for the upgrade to 'Desso-the next generation'.

If it's correct, 99.99999% apparently, why no statement from CW or the club. The response from The lane is deafening.?

Can we talk about the subject, and not what you think of me, please? For the record, I don't give afat fuck what you think of me. This is about Evans, SUFC, Wilder and I believe, McCabe.

Try to be a little more balanced and don't believe the hype when it's designed to paint the club in a bad way.

What 'hype'? We have re-signed a player whose conduct, whether found guilty or not cost us badly in the past and since release any association has blighted our name who this season has shown zero capability toward getting back to being the player he was, in the English League One, and who was borderline variable in the Championship. For half a million bucks. Talk to me if one or two of the other CBs are crocked or suspended midway through the season. That's where we need back-up.

Well, you've made my £500k into someone's 'I've heard it's £150k' in a hop-step-and-a-jump. I could live with £100k, it's not a lot to lose on a gamble at this level but if the board thinks this is the much vaunted 'investment' they'd better think again. Buying Evans is not Championshipising the club.

Coco,do you think that Chris isn't 100% behind this, can you envisage a situation were McCabe goes to CHris and says, you are signing Ched Evans, like it or not, given the position of strength our manager currently occupies,he would resign there and then on the spot don't you think, and what's more he would have the backing of all of us fans if such a situation arose

It's just yet another way to have a go at our Chairman from a non attendee with an agenda

The response would only be
"We don't like to speculate about potential signings. The clubs policy is that we like to do our business in private and only discuss signings after the contracts have been signed"

"And yes, all potential signings are only done through Chris Wilder. He's the manager and he always has the final say regards who we sign".

I can only hope that CW was consulted and agreed willingly rather than feeling his arm was twisted. Would he actually resign from his boyhood club who he has just got promoted, or just grit his teeth and bear it? We don't know.

I understand what you are saying, but on this one I think Pommpey is closer to the mark than most. It reeks of a KM 'deal'.

Provided he doesn't cause problems in the dressing room and why should he, then the only potnetial problem could be a lingering resentment from CW if he wasn't 100% in agreement. I guess we won't until Wilder's book comes out:

Chris Wilder - "Tufty at the top: A tale of rags to riches and record breaking consecutive Champions League wins for his boyhood club"

Hardback £15.99, estimated publication date 2021.

It's hardly an unexpected post but does serve to take his mind of us winning the title.

Coco, look how much store Chris sets in new signings being of the right calibrate,be able to fit into the group ethos, and you consider he would accept a player who doesn't fit in with this criteria,a player foisted upon him from above, his stock is that high he could walk into another job in a heartbeat, and we as fans would understand and back his decision
