Is this some kind of 'It Ain't Half Hot Mum' scenario where KM is like Windsor Davies and thinks Ched is his long lost son?

Still we have the pessimists who don't trust Wilder's judgement after the season we've just had. No way is this signing not of CW's approval. Hang onto your hats - if Evans gets fully fit (he'll not get near the subs bench if not) and shows the form we know he's capable of (see comment above) then a top 6 spot is just for starters........

I hope that he transfer fee means Ched won't be suing the club now for lost earnings?! Ha ha.

Ched must be totally over the moon! I never thought this day would come (if true). Nobody saw this coming and its funny that it seems most of our fans now don't want him and would have probably been happier with James Vaughan! Personally I'm not concerned about the past so much or baggage etc, more that is he able to stay fit!?

You've really got no idea what you're talking about have you?
A footballer (with a history) signs for us and somehow due to your well stated dislike, he's a 'chancer' and a 'leech'
Can you justify that?

Mind you I might agree if it does cause Wilder to walk - but if he was in on the deal - live with it!

You've read the stuff that's been posted about possible court action/defaulted contracts?

Anyway fuck Evans, he's a cunt. A moneygrabbing cunt.

My concern is he seems to be an extremely selfish and despicable human being. Tufty seems to have built this side based on personality, attitude and teamwork... Again, I trust his judgement implicitly , but everything I've seen would have me doubt whether he'd fit in...

I totally agree with this but if anyone can sort him out Wilder can.

If he's not the right type he'll not last long and will be sold on.

He's innocent and people really need to stop being so offended. Rooney was reportedly unfaithful and slept with prostitutes but became England captain and the biggest role model in the land.

John Terry reportedly had an affair with his team mates wife and reportedly used racist insults on the pitch but he's still a legend at Chelsea.

What Terry did is worse but 100,000's still want him back in the England side.

It's weird because I've finally got over him.
I was big fan and it's taken the greatest ever manager and Billy having the season of his life for me to finally move on.

If it's 100% wilders decision then I'm back on board.

Premier league standard? Did you see the players around him, Sharp would be on 40 with those players

Give over, that Evans pisses all over sharp. Majority of Evans goals were created by himself.

This is a career ending transfer for Wilder. I could see us getting relegated now, and him getting sacked. Especially if we send 500k on league two rejects

Another HUGE over reaction.

Career ending? Really??
After all he's done, all he's achieved, signing one player for 500k that might go wrong and he's finished!
Have a word with thisen.

We once bought a B Sharp for £2m....he hardly scored a goal and went elsewhere for a pittance for a second time. Warnock keeps getting a gig and he bought some right shit over the years, remind me how much he paid for Shelton, Horsefield, Akinbuyi!

It'll be in the news for a bit and that's it.

He was found not guilty, that is the end of it.

If people seriously find his moral bankruptcy so bad, fair enough, but that's all he is guilty of and it's not a reason for him not to play for us imo.

There are many more examples of players that have behaved badly, they get some grief but that's all it is.

Personally I think he fits Wilders style of football perfectly.

there are no moral issues
he is in law an innocent man

I think its purely a gamble football wise
He was hitting the heights with us before and before he was sent down was touted as being more than ready for the championship, but some saying now he never was ready , dont get that
Its very difficult to assess his readiness him being out injured in a team thats plummeted new depths this season
and he hasnt scored in 2017 , that is my only doubt
in his favour is if cw and knill think hes ready,, I trust their judgement

but gambles sometime get rewarded

"Grow a thick skin" - that has to be a joke........... his skin must be like bloody rawhide after what he's been through!

Ive all faith in world in wilder, his passion & determination is 2nd to none, the best thing thats happen to this club this millenium. but i seriously dont know how i can take ched back or cheer for him after all the pain he caused
  • after how he cost us promotion. Because regardless of what happened in wales, He still couldnt keep it in his pants despite having a girlfriend
  • Grief he brought partically post his release.
  • How he brought worst in everyone
  • ched yes & ched no arguments he caused that nearly ripped club in half,
  • i remember Media hounding for 3 months espically sky sports news seemed to be on it every day
  • At the worst this might of been my paranonia, but i felt i couldnt wear any of my utd stuff in public because of repuation we had at the times with all resignations & felt like if you were a utd fan you were automatically grouped as a rape defender.
It was the single worst point as sheff utd fan. I would never ever want to go back there ever again. In comparsion it makes other horrible days like hartlepool JPT under weir & Shrewsbury under adkins look like charlton/hull in that fa cup

He didn't cost us promotion. That's a misrepresentation of what happened. Its arguable that the situation cost us promotion but as things stand you can't blame entirely him for his own wrongful imprisonment and the subsequent failure of the side to get something out of 3 very winnable games and a play off final

He cheated on his partner during the close season during a pretty seedy encounter in a Premier Inn. Not great but he's not the first to do it. Unfortunately for him this seems to have defined his career in a way that it didn't for Ronaldo (fat one), for example, didn't have his after he beat up two prostitutes.....or Wayne Rooney, John Terry etc.

As ive said I'll only be comfortable with this when I know Wilder is on board but the bloke just wants to earn a living. I doubt anyone on here knows if him threatening to sue the club - although it will give some the opportunity to knock McCabe even though they might have been pro Evans in the past - is the cause of this deal, which seems unlikely, so leech and chancer are unfair comments IMO.

This is a 15 pager, if ever I've seen one.

Congrats to Presty on the biggest understatement of the year so far.

I'm sorry, what the fuck is Wilder thinking (if this is his decision).

He has just delivered the best season we've had for a long, long time. Won us our first title in over 30 years and has all the fans as one behind the team. Why the fuck do we then go and sign one of the most divisive players that have ever played for this club?

What a fucking stupid decision. How to lose a lot of good will, support and positivity in one stupid and completely needless move.

It's not 2012 any more. Ched has been injured for most of the season. He wasn't good enough in the Championship at 22. Why would he suddenly be at 28 after spending the best part of 4 years out of the game?

And for 500k? Unless we've suddenly got millions to throw around, this is a ridiculous gamble.
