Sheffield United, who sealed promotion to the Championship on 8 April, have five players in the League One team of the year.

They are goalkeeper Simon Moore, defender Kieron Freeman, midfielders Mark Duffy and John Fleck and the country's top goalscorer, Billy Sharp, who has 27 goals to his name this campaign.

Bolton, who can join the Blades in the second tier if results go their way this weekend, provide defenders Mark Beevers and David Wheater.

Bradford left-back James Meredith completes the back four, while Scunthorpe's Josh Morris (with 19 goals to his name) and Erhun Oztumer (scorer of 14) of Walsall are in midfield with Bury's James Vaughan (22 goals) in attack.

That's it, have Half-a-Season-Morris in the middle and Fleck on the left wing.

5 is the least we should have in the team. Basham and O'Connell could be in, and maybe Coutts instead of Duffy.

Moore shouldn't be in though, Connor Ripley should be. He's been the best keeper in L1 by all accounts.

Wish we signed Oztumer in the summer.

I'm a big fan of Simon Moore but I'm not sure he should be in there, purely because he hasn't had much to do most matches. Sure, he's had plenty of clean sheets, but that is probably just as much to do with the defence in front of him, which gives strength to the argument that JOC and/or Bash should have been included.

3-5-2 is undoubtedly the formation of the season so they should have gone with that. Something like this.

I honestly started mine before you posted that!! Looks like I copied now 2 minutes later!!! Tbf the 2 differences between the sides I could easily swap

That really is a fantastic achievement and shows that finally our players are being recognised. Can't remember the last time we had 5 players in a PFA team

Don't worry magic hat, you'll be in next season's!

This is the one voted for by fellow players, isn't it? A glowing endorsement, if ever there was.

Got more in our divisional team than Brighton or Newcastle in theirs, & than Donny did in theirs too. And mega-spending Wendy? - nul points.

I'd have Coutts or Duffy (or maybe Josh Cullen or Mark Marshall) instead of Morris as well but he's scored 19 and there seems to be a rule to include one player from each top team. None of Fleetwood's in though, which is harsh. But McLaughlin can't be in ahead of Freeman.

Every member of our team would have a chance of being in that side. But obviously they couldn't just name our team there would be uproar...even if it could be justified!!

Coutts, Bash and O Connell particularly could feel unlicky

Of more interest to me this season will be the choice of our own players player of the year.

Now that would be worth winning !!

Our total of 5 this season compared to the L1 winning teams during our time here:

Bristol City 2014/15 – 5
Wolves 2013/14 – 5
Donny 2012/13 – 2
Charlton 2011/12 – 4

The Stir very unhappy that the pork didn't manage to get a diving cheat or a vastly overpaid mercenary into the Division Two team of the year

Free-scoring (12 goals) Fernando Forestieri has been overlooked upfront in place of Newcastle's Dwight Gayle (22 goals) and Leeds' Chris Wood (25 goals) while impressive Ross Wallace, Barry Bannan and Sam Winnall (13 goals - only 2 of them for the Filth) have also been ignored.

Fucking pig rag.

Strange that given they seem to be leading on our great news both of you are deciding to focus on what little in the article mentions the other team. They say they have been overlooked. Other than including the word "rightly" next to overlooked (which would switch this from a neutral piece to biased in United's favour) I'm not really sure what people are expecting...

not to be funny but you could say the same for O'Connell, first half of the season not great but much improvement through your the second half.

How the fook can 12 goals qualify anyone as "free scoring" let alone Forestfairy?
