I'm assuming that Duffy won't be with us next season, and if he is it will be as a squad player/impact sub. He doesn't appear to have the legs to go 90 minutes and has struggled fitness-wise in the latter part of the season. (which is a huge shame as he's been brilliant in spells)

Marshall looked to me like a player who could play in a similar role. Direct, quick and with a trick or 3. He's out of contract at the end of the season. Worth a punt for free? The kicker is that he's 29.

I'd definitely take him, he'd be a great player to have in the squad. We need more ball carriers.

He can play all over the pitch, he's quick, he's two footed, receives the ball well, is hard to tackle and he has an end product too - every cross he put in today was decent.

He's been in Bradford's team all season and that speaks volumes. He's obviously developed quite a lot as a player in the last couple of years.

He was their stand out player by a mile for me. Must admit he's not a player who was on my radar beforehand but on the strength of that performance I'd take him in a heartbeat.

What was his end product..?

I can't remember him wasting the ball very often but he has great feet and put a super cross over which Charlie Wyke should have buried in the first half, and which would have been the equaliser if it had gone in.

I was saying the same thing at the game today, looks a good player both on left and right,he won't be at Bradford next season if they don't go up

I just looked him up, he's 29. Not much younger than Duffy.

Their best player, but I Duffy was a class above first have.

Its a no from me. We've had too many of this type of player in the past. No doubting that he has some skills and can beat a man, but seemed more content with beating himself.

Lacked an end product and despite there being a player in there, i think there was a decent reason why he's in a play off chasing League one side. Unlike Duffy, a Champion.

I think we can do better. If we're really serious about competing next season I'd like to see us sign Maddison from Peterborough or Otzumher from Walsall, if its going to be a freebie then Niall McGinn would be my choice from Aberdeen who has been their best player for a couple of seasons now and at 29 is the same age as Marshall and with 50 caps to his name for Northern Ireland

Banned for two years for taking steroids, not a great start. 29 years old and this is as high as he has played.

I think we can do slightly better than this

thought he gave o'connell and lafferty a right job to do today

He looked ok but certainly not as good as Duffy or Carruthers. Can't understand why anyone would think otherwise. They fill a similar role for us and will both be fine in the Championship. We have no need for him.

Been looking on their forums for a few weeks now and a lot of Bradford fans have consistently picked out Marshall as their main bloke saying that he's hands down been their best player all season and one that most other fans pick as Bradford's main threat.

I like the look of their left back meredith too. He was getting a lot of championship interest in January. Watching him yesterday however I don't think he'd necessarily be much of an improvement on Lafferty.

Well i thought he was shit! Looked like he should be good but created very little. No better than JCR for me

You're kidding, he put in several really good pinpoint crosses (not something you'd accuse JCR of doing routinely, much as I liked him) and kept at it for 90 minutes. He's clearly given a free role and kept popping up on either side.

We talked about him during the game and the problem is we don't really play with wingers and who would we leave out to accommodate him, so a no from the Trig contingent.

I'd think about using a player like him in Duffy's role. I've only watched Marshall once so all of this is said providing he can maintain that standard, but for me he looked capable of playing a division higher. If the consistency of his crossing yesterday is his usual standard then I figure he'd do well in Duffy's role floating to the flanks to support the wing backs.

This isn't saying I'd drop Duffy, though - more that based on yesterday he could be an affordable squad option who we could use depending on who's in form.

Player has a good 30 mins, and then is suggested as a signing shock.

Mark Marshall slightly above average League One player, no thanks.

To be fair, it's based on more than 30 minutes.

Ripped Bob Harris a new one for Vale on boxing day a couple of years ago.

Ripped McEveley a new one at their place last season.

Features prominently on a lot of Bradfords goals on the highlights shows along with Wyke.

Looked good yesterday.

That said. I've often thought he'd be a good signing for us in this league but not sure about the one above.

CW likes players who work hard all over the pitch especially the wide players. Marshall was poor at tracking back yesterday and seemed to disregard the defensive side of the game. I reckon CW wont be interested

We don't want or need squad fillers.

The way to progress is if we concentrate on improving the first team.

To be fair, he surprised me yesterday, he normally has no end product, but swung over some pinpoint crosses for 30 mins or so.

Then he reverted back to becoming invisible, and not tracking back.

Agree, he`s a decent enough League One player, but no higher IMO

Having watched the Bradford game on Sky ( I live on the Isle of Man and so don't get to BDTBL too often ) I was quite impressed with the quick and skilful Marshall for Bradford. Should he be on CWs radar or don't you think he is good enough to step up to the championship? Answers on a postcard......
Ok - you'll get mine in a week if at all given the state of the fucking postal service

Looked decent on the ball but his end product was poor. Seemed happy to do a couple of step overs and look good, rather than do anything which would help his teammates.

Think he'll still be playing League One next season.
