He saw us again as plucky, gallant losers (Losing to Hull 3-5 at Wembley)
It would be good for him to see us at our best as strong, jubilant winners (Home v Bradford or Chesterfield).

Show him that he hasn't wasted his money after all.
Give him more desire and incentive to invest.

Yes, we know he's the Saudi Government Minister for Sport.
Surely even Government Ministers are allowed to have holidays or a weekend off?
Time and schedule permitting it would be good news all round if he could see a match at the Lane while we're flying. IMHO.

It actually may have been Jim but it was along the lines that the job would take up all the time he had and would mean that his visits to BL, if any, were unlikely. Think the job was for a fixed period.

That's pretty much how I remember it.
Be interesting to see exctly how investment in players plays out before the start of the new season.

Without wishing to get all political, the Saudi government works for Saudi. While it's far from civilised and western, and it has some pretty awful statistics surrounding it, it's managed to keep an Islamic, middle eastern country stable and functional and provided a decent standard of life for its people so its fine with me.

Much as I'm inclined to agree with the general gist of what you're getting it, this is how it is these days. The game is awash with money, and businessmen, oligarchs and royals are the ones who have it. I stump up what I can for my club but if we were ran on the budgets of me and people like me, we'd probably not exist.

I understand the discomfort, but find me a wealthy businessperson who say they've never done wrong or bent the rules a tad to get where they are, and I'll show you a liar.
