Now that the euphoria of Saturday is starting to wear off thoughts are starting to turn to next season and our ability to consolidate in the Championship.
It was interesting and pleasing to hear the 'Lord' Wilder on radio Sheffield today saying that he and his staff already had plans underway on potential players for next year both existing (who they think can make it) and potential new recruits.
Personally I can see no reason why we cannot follow in the way teams like Huddersfield and Bournemouth who were by many predicted to struggle but have gone on not only to consolidate but confound peoples expectations, largely through having what the Blades currently have which is a TEAM rather than a group of individuals who just happen to pull on a shirt of the same colour.
When you then consider our support and back up infrastructure we ought to have advantages over both these teams, plus and probably the biggest thing in our favour we have our truly inspirational gaffer at the helm who I rate more and more every time I hear him speak.
A club who have shown the way NOT to go are Birmingham getting rid of local boy Rowett to bring in the supposed star manager Zola.
The Blades Board now need to fully embrace what Wilder has created at BDTBL and back him in a third transfer window this summer. Lets see how committed the Prince is and how deep he digs into his pockets.
Anyway onward first to win the league title and get those 100 points !!!
