How did this happen? Remember walking out at the Southend match thinking we've hired Mickey Adams again and we were heading for L2. Fans were chucking their expensive new kits on the floor, Wilder was a cheap as chips clueless appointment and McCabe was again guilty of hiring the manager wrong.

Then boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Answers on a post card please.

You don't turn an oil tanker round on a high street. Takes miles to stop, turn and then get it going in the right direction. Fact he did it so quickly is a miracle.

Didn't Wilder drop a lot of players in that period?

Hussey and Brayford being two I can think of

Was on holiday for the first four games (though went to the crewe cup game???) , remember thinking at half time vs Oxford that if it stayed like that it was probablay curtains for Wilder as Mccabe wouldn't mess about.

Thank god for the win and what a turnaround. I love you mr Wilder.

And he signed Moore and EEL.

He did so much more though. Moore was a cornerstone as it is clear the back 4 had no confidence in Long. He bought well and he gave players who many of us said should be shown the door another chance. Coutts and Freeman have been revelations compared to previous seasons. He got rid of the deadwood and replaced it with quality and a will to win. He turned the entire ethos of the club from bloated to lean and wanting to win. You don't feel those players just show up for the pay cheque now do you?

All bodes well for next season where I think we will get back to our rightful place. Mid table Championship. After that who knows, but you wouldn't bet against him doing a Bassett would you?

If she's on the High Street the Captain and deck department want shooting!

Up the Engineers.

Last time I was back in the UK was for the first 4 games of the season.......guess I should keep away too!!
REALLY jealous of you guys at the moment but we have the Bradford game being streamed live in KL for a big party......UTB

I remember posting after the Southend game that if we continued to play like that, we'd get relegated. I still stand by that because the play has been a revelation since then.
What was strange was that we seemed to do ok in pre-season and it was worrying that the basics hadn't been sorted before the season started. Thankfully, Wilder was just giving the other teams a start!

Ok simply a few key points helped us after the poor start.
The formation change, Wright, Freeman, Fleck, signing of Lafferty and Moore, also Done partnering Sharp up front all helped us early.

I'm not technical enough to take it apart and find out why I considered not going anymore in the belief our season was already over!

All I do know is football is a funny old game. Moments like this season turnaround rarely happen and I'm revelling in being part of it, keeping the faith and continuing to attend when the skies were so dark.

I've seen 59 seasons, this one was special and it will take years of reflection to realise just how special.

If we had for it wrong again you only have to look at Coventry to see how things would have turned out. So well done McCabe for realising the errors and fixing them.

Sorry to say it but dropping long was essential and should have been done way before it was
Don't think the lad has got what it takes to be a professional goalkeeper personally

I like the lad and it gives me no pleasure to say it but we need to bring in an experienced player to cover Moore because he himself is more potential than reliable at this moment and if he gets injured or his form dips and we put long in then I'm afraid to say we might never recover

I am in total agreement, Seems sad as he is home grown and always though he would kick on and show he could do it but now more than ever know he will not be the right back up or keeper we need in the Championship, maybe he should look to Scotland where he had a great time and looked like the keeper he should be?

I do think Moore will get better in the league above, however would like a good back up that could take the 1 shirt if required.
