I'd have:
Wayne Hennesey
Zeki Fryers
Conor McAleny
Fraizer Campbell
Andrew Surman

With:
Sam Morsy
Harry Chapman
EEL

We'd be more than fine with that squad next year.

If Wigan go down Morsy (someone had too) and Bogle should definitely be looked at, more say Morsy, would be brilliant competition for Fleck and Coutts.

The one player I'd love to sign is Marcus Maddison, when was the last time we had a winger with a bit of flair and pace who can score and set up goals, not to mention this one he scored yesterday

Not sure how much he'd cost though

Saw that goal from Maddison on Channel 5, that sums up what ability he's got. Sensational goal.

In the very next highlight was Mendez-Laing scoring a good goal for Rochdale.

If we're looking in L1 for wingers to sign I think these could be the two at the top of the list.

Kieron Freeman

Agree abut Maddison, I have banged on about him (and James Vaughn) as two lads we should be looking at. Think Maddison has two years left on his contract?

only there on loan from wolves but hes out of contract in the summer i think

Noticed Wallace was the only Millwall player, bar Gregory, whose hand Wilder shook at the end.

Easy to put 2 and 2 together but made me wonder if he was a player we've shown interest in at some point.

If Brighton go up would Jamie Murphy be surplus to requirements?

I'm not usually a great advocate of players returning for a second stint, but Murphy is still at the right age and has something I think we are lacking for the Championship...............namely pace

Murphy seems to be a bit part player at Brighton this season and may not be too happy with that

I do miss his selective anonymity when we werent playing anyone shit

Wilder will have his own ideas however I wouldn't be surprised to see us go for Danny Ward from Rotherham. I like Michael Jacobs at Wigan as well. I think that's the sort of market we should expect to be shopping in. Good young players that are much better than the clubs they play for (in and around top of L1, bottom of Championship).

He's good, but don't forget he's got an ice cream on his head.

Think Jamie Murphy would be a fantastic signing if Brighton were to go up

Unless CW reverts to 4-2-3-1 how would Murphy fit into the side? He certainly wouldn't be able to play LWB.

I'd also expect Murphy's current wages to be too rich for Utd's buget next season.

Zlatan :D

He is from Lewisham and spent most of his career down south so I am not sure about the location aspect. Has he played for wilder before?

Northampton on loan.

Maybe he's settled in this area now, playing for Donny.

My list still remains quite simple

McCarthy - Southampton CB - on loan at Walsall
Vela - Bolton CM - Might be priced out of that one
Chapman - Loan
Riley - Loan

Probably looking for a lefty upfront with a bit more quality than Done. I still think we play better when we had Done in the side, however we all know he lacks the quality. Maybe Ward from Rotherham but his stock is reducing. I will need to research this.

The Saints supporters my son's in laws have been banging on about McCarthy all season.

McCarthy is a CB I think, and played well twice at RWB against us.

His team mate Joe Edwards is also worth looking at based on performances against us.

Anyway, now we're basically promoted, I can't wait to see who we're interested in. Wilder will have been planning things for a long time. Exciting transfer window coming up.

He is was Southampton's u21 captain when they won the lot a few years ago. Gradually his loans have got better from Wycombe and now Walsall. Certainly a player I would be looking at to replace EEL and should be better.

Could easily play the role Duffy plays, offers us pace and the ability to run at players. Championship quality player which would improve the team. His wages will more than likely be more than anyone in our team but that's cause he's playing in the league above

Why would you sign Murphy to play CAM (a role he's hardly ever played) when you already have Duffy, Carruthers and O'Shea (+ Scougall) who are more natural and better in that position? Whilst he has played up front previously, his undoubted best position is playing left sided in either a 4-2-3-1, 4-3-3 or 4-4-2.

Do you not think such an investment would be better off being directed to the more pressing priorities in the squad i.e. cover/competition for GK, CB, LWB, RWB, DMC, CF?

Not many players can 'easily' play the Duffy role. Most central attacking midfielders can't, so a winger like Murphy is very unlikely to. It shouldn't be underestimated how well Duffy has played that role this season.

Some moron behind me last night was slagging him off and saying 'he's as much use as a chocolate fireguard'. I just find that unbelievable. How quickly people take things for granted. FFS, he's the best we've had in that position for a very long time by a million miles, and anyone who can't see the impact he makes has no football brain whatsoever. Take Duffy out of that team and a lot of the football we've played this season (which has got us to the top of the league) wouldn't have been possible.

Agreed. It's a mystery why he's not really been able to do it at Champ level previously, although he played wide right more often then.

I hope with the added experience he'll be able to step-up next season. I'm sure a fully fit Carruthers will push him hard for a starting position though.

Tbh I'm not sure he'll be a regular next season, although I'd give him a better chance of making the step up in the 10 position rather than the wide role he's played previously. Carruthers will probably be our main man for that position with a full pre season behind him.

But I really doubt we'll see anyone play the number 10 role better than Duffy has this season.

They have to be judged not only on goals/assists, but by how often they get on the ball and how well they use it. Duffy gets on the ball a hell of a lot compared to most players in that position, never hides, and he rarely gives it away. The least he does is get us into good areas, even when he's not playing well. It's beyond me how anyone can criticise him this season.

Carruthers will be picked in front of Duffy imo. Duffy is far too inconsistent for championship level to be starting every week. Just look at tonight he was dreadful in the first half
