3-0 loss to Southend at home.we got hammered for first 20 mins. But there was something in the team that day.
We hit rock bottom, but I knew there was only one way we could go.

This might sound bizarre.

But during the pummeling of Bolton at home, Fleck absolutely levelling that Bolton player with a 50/50 challenge made me leap out of my seat.

In that second I got nostalgic about what being a Blade is all about - Watching players wearing red & white demonstrating their commitment, passion and desire.

We've got that excitement back but this time with players who also have technical ability.

A satisfying moment for me personally.

Glad someone's posted that. I absolutely fucking loved it as well. Especially as it was against Bolton. My love for Sir Fleck was sealed with that!

The late winners from Billy at Gillingham and Coventry were fantastic.

Gillingham, first away win, and a long journey on a Sunday to see a performance and a win that gave me great hope and convinced me that our bad start was no sign of things to come.

But for me the Coventry one probably tops the lot. Their fans were a disgrace and I was extremely wound up. It looked like their antics were going to help cost us the game. Then we go and win it. Big 3 points when it seemed we'd have to settle for 1 (or a rematch) and a massive fuck you to their fans. On top of that it demonstrated the mentality in our squad that would ultimately get us to the top of the league. You can't help but feel it's going to be your season when you win in those circumstances.

As much as I love Fleck, i'm not sure it was a 50\50! He certainly came out of it in a better shape than the Bolton lad though.

Good.

They play a direct, physical game themselves. We beat them in every department that day, especially the ones they're effective with.

For me it was the last minute winner at Gillingham which mitigated the scars of the 4.0 drubbing the season before and that gave us hope . It was closely followed by the last minute winner at Peterborough as we went wild at the celebrations

Got to be Oxford away for me, wasn't our best performance but the celebration at the end from the players and wilder. I think at the moment most believed that we'd do it.

A funny moment for me was watching the Coventry game and the commentator starts to mention there's a bit of crowd trouble. Apparently United fans were gauding Coventry fans with chants of "we love you SISU". Comedy gold and only would it be United fans with such banter hahahaha

The resulting forum invasion from Coventry fans who couldn't take a bit of banter became the stuff of legends round these parts. The shoutbox had to be shut down!

Wilder walking towards the tunnel at Oxford away then hesitating before turning around and walking back over to our supporters and celebrating the way he did.
That was the moment I thought to myself that we may just make it this season.

Winning at Gillingham. I know people consider Oxford as the turn around game with justification. However, watching The Gillingham turnaround you could see the spirit starting to build.

There's been so many - and probably more to come. For once, it would be worth bringing out a 'Best of 2016-17' DVD. (Least season wouldn't have lasted ten seconds).

The esoteric in me particularly enjoyed a moment last Tuesday at around 21.45. I got away quickly and was walking down Bramall Lane. We'd beaten Millwall and a huge cheer went up. As Wimbledon v Rochdale and Oxford v Bury were the only other games that interested us that night, it couldn't have been that. I'm pretty sure that the team were acknowledging the fans and were in front of the kop.

I'll be hanging around on Wednesday! :)

Cant forget the importance of Freeman's goals this season. He just seams to pop up from nowhere to slam them home. For instance, the last minute winner on New Years Eve against Northampton in front of the Kop has got to be one of my fav moments of the season.

This^

An absolutely beautiful goal. It just encapsulates our season. Pass and move, pass and move, pass and move with steely determination. A fabulous team effort. If it had been scored by Barca or Citeh or the Gooners it'd never be off our screens and the pundits would be waxing lyrical. Wonderful, just wonderful. 17 passes, 46 touches of pure class.

The smash-and-grab win at Coventry.
Despite all the disruptions, whistle-blowing, tennis ball throwing, pitch invasion protests and threats of a potential match abandonment, we were unfazed, got the job done and went home with the 3 points, thank you very much.:)

For me it was the last gasp winner v Bury when we'd done everything but score. Even though it wasn't happening for them, and the keeper was taking 2 minutes with every goal kick, there was still that belief that they could still pinch it. And they did, thanks to a brilliant 1-2 and a cool finish from Ebanks Landell.

Also a mention for the 2nd 45 minutes v Bolton when we absolutely arseholed them.
Peterborough without a doubt. Glasses ended up about 5 gangways away!

One of them was Probably having to watch the game at Coventry in a pub in Reading. I got their just in time for kick off, the pub was packed due to it being karioke night. I bought my pint and saw a table in front of the screen with a spare seat , right next to 2 Coventry fans. To be fair , they could not apologise enough for the actions of their fans , and said we would get auto promotion.
so when the karioke kicked off with some bloke on his Xmas office party with the Kaiser Chiefs " I predict a riot " as Billy got the late winner ,it ended up being a top night.

James Wilsons Header against Oxford to set up our first win , and a big relief for this ever cautious Blade , as i could see the pain Wilder and Knill would be having .

Agree re the two Bolton goals. That was the most enjoyable result of the season for me but would also put Pask’s last minute handball at Gilligham up there.

I’d also say Billy’s last gasp winner at Coventry would be up there. Their fans had been shitheads all game ruining it, they’d equalised through a jammy deflection. We’d hit the post twice then boom, up pops Billy to send us top of the league going into the xmas games.

Our first 45 against Scunny at home was the most sustained half of high intensity, beautiful to watch football I've seen in years.

If we hit those heights again this season we'll get a cricket score.

I’d say the 2 minutes after they scored were a fantastic example of 11 individuals all showing an unbelievable level of determination to get back in a game at once. So focused and driven to turn it round.

Home to Shrewsbury. Not the best match, not the best performance, but my 1st born's 1st trip to the Lane and it doesn't get more special than that. He still thinks we played Sainsbury's as well which makes me chuckle.

My lad’s first game was Peterborough at home in 2009. We won 1-0 with a goal from Henri Camara and Mark Bunn saved a George Boyd penalty. Probably a forgettable game for many but those experiences stick in the mind.

I suspect that it was as the players approached the kop and Basham pumped both fists up into the air and the crowd reciprocated with a roar.

Easy, it was me lad being mascot for the blades vs the gas:

I couldn't stop laughing for hours! The carnage on S2 was the icing on the cake!
