I will not be at this game today at Shirecliffe so I hope someone will let me know how they get on. Be interesting to find out what team we play today as we need to get back to winning ways so we do not waste the games in hand to ensure we get into the playoffs. Last competition left for us to win something at this level

I'd be interested to know what team you would play Baw Heid?
I would include the likes of Clarke, Scougall and McNulty. Definitely Reed and Brooks.
Any fringe player who is eligible and not likely to be in the 18 man squad for Oldham basically.

The two keepers Long and Eastman would miss out just in case of injury but like you any from Clarke, Scougall, Mcnulty or Hussey could play and Chapman and Wilson could do with some game time.
Brooks and Reed should be a no brainer Kelly.Graham and my man Wright jr, Slater and Mallon So with a keeper thats 8 the other 3 from the ones we have mentioned and I would play Cummings if he is still here and leaving 2. Be hard to beat if we did get Long to play in net

Just back from the game. We huffed and puffed but didn't create much in the way of clear chances although should have rqualised at the death with a free header which went over,as well as one cleared off the kine with the keeper beaten.
Team was.
Eastwood
Jake Bennett
Ryan Harrington Trialist?
Jordan Doherty Trialist?
Oliver Donald
George Cantrill
Regan Slater (c)
Harvey Gilmour
Horatio Hirst
Oliver Greaves
Ty Smith

Subs
Tom Charlesworth
Hugo Warhurst
Keegan Ferguson
Jake Ford
Cameron Hawkes.

Nice to see Redalways aBlade and RodCurrie.

With that side and the side sent to Portsmouth not to mention the behind closed doors game.

Maybe we have a few players injured.

Young team again The trialist Harrington has played before was OK. How did he play today? Doherty is a first year scholar and is a mid fielder.

Harrington was pretty solid. There was a swirling wind which made it difficult judging the flight of the ball.

McNulty wandered around near us quite a bit, as did Scougall. Might have been better employed on the pitch.
Could have wandered over and asked Chrissywissy and Knillywilly but didn't want to intrude. Tried to get rodcurrie to go and bore an answer out of them but he wouldn't play.

Thanks for trying and yes Harrington was Ok when I saw him but I prefer Joe Cummings who has been let go We are getting through our games in hand with no wins Surely Brooks Reed and Graham must be injured.

Didn't see any of them around. Coutts and Chapman were there.
Oh and Imre Varadi.

Interesting to see the weakened Under 23 side in recent games.

I think the behind closed doors friendlies will have had something to do with that as regular U23'S like Brooks, Reed, Kelly, Graham, Wright and Hallam will have perhaps been involved with the likes of fringe first team players.

I also notice that the U23's have a further 7 games plus any cup games to play by the end of next month, the U18's have only two games plus cup games.

I suppose other reasons why some players are "disappearing" is that some second year scholars will not have been offered pro terms and will have left or be leaving or gone on trial at other clubs. Similarly we have had players on trial from other clubs

Also some of the first year pros on a 1 year contract who have not been offered further terms may not be involved again.

At this time of year preference will be given to players who will be at the club next season, promoting first year scholars to play in the U23's and schoolboys who have signed up as first year scholars for next season playing in the U18's.

We have no further cup games now as we decided to play weak teams. If we reach the top two in the league we will have one or two extra fixtures.
I will be surprised if your comments do not elicit some responses

To be honest Wooden today's team was a very poor effort on the clubs part.
3 at the back including a poor trialist and first year scholar midfielder and a right footed first year scholar on the left.
3 released players playing.

Reed, McNulty, Brooks, Scougal, etc all milling about, Kelly, Wright, watching,as well as the whole first team management team.

Bit of a shambles. Too many youngsters out of their depth today not helped by the club.
