The one that stands out to me was the 2,2 draw, and we had 2 players sent off, and if memory serves me right, the referee was a George Tyson, he made Trevor kettle look a good ref. Think it was 1983

Has to be a crappy cup game at home in Bassett days....2 down and won 7-2 I believe.
I was stood on the kop among a small crowd and it was great.

My first visit to Boundary Park was August 1973, we won 3-0 in a pre-season friendly. Colquhoun and Lochhead had a good battle throughout the game but at the final whistle they shook hands and chatted all the way to the tunnel. My next visit to the same ground was the Texaco Cup match a year later but we lost 4-0!

The win on their plastic pitch that ended their long unbeaten run on it. Joe Royle took it very very badly. Night game, Deano scored and Simon Webster had his best game for us.

(Silent, please confirm ASAP)
Correct. Deane scored both goals ending Oldham's 38 games unbeaten run at home. Tracey saved an Ian Marshall penalty. Webster played up front and was superb but he was dropped for the next match (at Stoke)

Always remember that one, Grizzly. Zenith Data Systems cup. A little over 3,000 in attendance.

I too stood on the Kop that night. Couldn't persuade anyone else to go to that one and at 0-2, with most of the match still to go and the thought of getting the bus home at god knows what time, it was hard not to think they'd had the right idea.

We were 15 games into the winless start under Harry, and Oldham were real contenders at the top of Division 2. They got 2 goals in no time but then it was as if United collectively decided that they were utterly sick of things panning out like this every match, and we absolutely pasted them.

A real turning point. We lost at Liverpool at the weekend but put up a decent scrap in the process. Then the next home match was Forest...

That's the one. It was cold, it was Jock bryson at his best.
Remember the chants...we want 6, we want 6....yesss, quickly followed by we want 7...we want 7....hahahahahaha, it was brilliant.

Christ knows why I decided to travel over from Brid for that match, driving my mums Escort. More surprising she let me to be honest at 17 and just passed my test!

Kevin McNally once sent 2 off at Oldham think it was Woodward and Flynn
Nearly ended up in a Riot

78 or 79 drew 1-1 took the whole of the ground they had a crew on what was their end they took a right beating.

Two stick out for me; losing 2-1 with 9 men (hartfield and bees off?). Deano scored second half despite having glandular fever and his next game was the derby! There was a big punch up in the car park after. Next the night game we drew 1-1 before the stein Chelsea match. Did Tracey make a major mistake that night that let them back into it? Those 2 dropped points were clearly massive. We could have stayed up that night and after beating the geordies on the Saturday too. All in all not great omens!

Remember it. Just before that game Harry said we had been unlucky in our results and were about to give somebody a real thumping. I didn't believe him and didn't go. :( As you say next match Forest - one of my favourite blades games ever and start of title form run.

Bank Holiday fixture when Bassett was manager. Can't remember who scored, either Hoyland or Deane. Pitch was awful, really sandy and the ball bobbled everywhere. We sang David Bassett's red and white army for most of the 2nd half

5-1 away win in the mid 80's, my joint best away scoreline. As with the other, 5-1 at Halifax, we were 1 down early on. If memory serves they were flying high at the time, Sir Keith on fire as ever :)

I remember that game. I'd just had my 80's mullet culled that morning and the away end was uncovered. Man Utd got their 10th win on the trot that day to put them top of the league. Strange the things you remember. Kevin Arnott had a reet game!

December 27th, 1976 Oldham 1 United 2

Before Oldham had developed the end where we are this Saturday.

Blades knocked through a rickety old railing/gate and 100's just walked in without paying - me included !

Think it was the same year the piggies got done by the FA for lobbing bricks and stones at the same ground?

About the time when the "jingle bells.........oh what fun it is to see United win away" song was very prevalent.

UTB

Season 1992/93 played them near the end of the season. Pay on the day. Thousands of Blades turned up and it was mayhem outside. Sure there were many who didn't get in. I managed to get in the home end. Can't remember the score.

Next season 1993/94 played them almost exactly same time of the season. Soon as tickets went on sale I went down and bought one. Crap seat at the front near the corner flag. Think I was the first to buy and they started selling from the bottom corner. 1-1.

'You're going down with the Swindon Town' still haunts and I refuse to sing the 'Blades are going up' until it's mathematically certain.

Surprised there are so few mentions so far of this game from our promotion season. It was absolutely mental in the away end as you can see from this footage :) I think Oldham had gone unbeaten at home for 40 odd games. What a night.

Only memory of Boundary Park is playing on that shit plastic pitch in about 1991 when they rented the ground out to corporate/private matches - I think we lost 4-1 and I was in goal for the losing team. Wore a pair of tracky bottoms which were shredded to bits after the game around the knees, as were my fucking knees and elbows. Really strange feeling playing in a proper professional stadium with absolutely no fucker in the stands!
