We will this time be situated in the upper tier of the stand and you will notice that the corner to our right has been filled in with nice modern seating. Our stand, however, is the oldest in the stadium and that is reflected in the fact there is no choice but to undertake a bit of a climb to arrive at a concourse that offers plenty of room, but is quite dank and dark. More stairs to our seats and I would envisage it being a sit anywhere job. Despite a couple of impediments, the view is, on the whole, pretty good, although towards the rear it can be a bit difficult seeing all of the goal at our end.

Dank and Dark, wtf they on about. they must be confusing us with that shit hole on Leppings Lane.

They should be grateful that they're getting the upper and not the lower. Lower is grim by comparison

If those comments are from a supporter with genuine mobility issues and there is no provision for him, then his gripe is justified (I don't know what we provide in terms of such facilities for away supporters).

As he doesn't specify this however I have no choice but to label him as a lazy ungrateful twat who should be thankful for the opportunity to sit in the best seats in what many, many away fans agree is one of the best places to watch football in this country.

Of course the away end at the Valley is well lit, with wide open concourses and access to its plentiful and modern toilet and catering facilities isn't it?

And with their usual turnout, no-one is actually going to need to be inconvenienced by having to sit at the back....

We should always be looking to improve the facilities at the ground and over the years we have done. It could be quite easy to forget upgrading the facilities in favour of throwing money at manager after manager whilst we're in the 3rd division.

However we've generally spent on both. I think even the away changing rooms now have hot water in the showers.

I'm sure that the away end will be upgraded to Charltons royal standards eventually. However when that happens it will probably be because we need to house Blades fans there whilst the kop is upgraded and the away fans sit in the kop corner.

I'd rather have a Desso, under soil heating and decent drainage than have happy away fans

Maybe we should but em in a corner on the kop, then they could moan about the view and the facilities.

The last time I was in the toilets at the Valley, Sean Bean was in there. So there's that.

After reading your post, I have come to the conclusion that you have way too much time on your hands.

All the moaners should have been stood next to me on Bramall Lane (no "Lower" or "Upper" then) when West Brom drew 1-1 here in the cup a good few years ago. Stood crammed up against the brick bog in the back corner and able to see up to the half-way line. Both goals were scored at the Lane end so at least we got to see them... including a penalty by the WBA England International Ronnie Allen....... "Thi dunt know thi born these days"

Mate, any chance you can find out what they said about their trips to Gillingham, Southend, Bristol Rovers, Swindon etc etc. I don't know why we bother.. Still at least they won't have to worry about our facilities next season...
