After reading on a few other threads about how good the view is from the Westfield corner, I decided, as it's the only place I've never watched a game from, that I was going to treat myself n the lad, and maybe my brother, to a new view of a Blades masterclass this weekend.
I have to work lots of weekends and shifts so it's quiet hard for me to get to as many games as id like, I hate not being able to have a season ticket, and this year has really done my head in, not being able to witness every game at BDTBL, but such is life, I have to work round the family right now.
Anyway, I'm really looking forward to Saturday now, a few pints beforehand, a masterclass, 3 points and couple more beers after, what's not to like, sounds perfect!!
See you satdy!!!
COYRAWW!!!!!!!!!

You are not alone. After Saturday's game, I have to drive the kids back home to Mosborough then turn around back to town and do a 12 hour nightshift.

I feel your pain, luckily for me it's "Friday" for me today, so 12hr tonight and then off til Monday morning.

btw Westfield is a great view, you won't disappointed. Don't expect too much on the grub front though unless you go down early.
Just realised we are in Westfield too on Saturday, row S.

It's Bramall lane, every snap cabin gets, 1 bag of frozen skinny fries, 1 tin of gravy, and 10 pies, 5 steak 5 balti, first in the queue gets fed rest can fuck of, but with a smile!!
Not sure where we are yet, she just said near the front??
You'll see me, I'm the big skinhead bloke with a 10 year old!!

Here ya go, it will look better now we have a Desso ;) and don't go throwing owt I'll be below in H block.

Had the pleasure of seeing us grind out a passionate, steely and determined 1-1 draw against Bury from the comfy padded seats in the South stand.

At least the Salmon in the Platinum Suite was nice.

Yeah the view is quality, you can actually see the entire pitch! but it is completely devoid of atmosphere! I've sat In there a few times cos my dad gets cheap Tickets from his work for that stand!

Not recently it's not mate. Would have completely agreed with you last season, different now like most things. :)

My son had a Westfield sausage roll last season and it was so overcooked he couldn't break it apart. And no fries or chips in Westfield!!!

It depends on what it's being compared against. I had my first visit there for the Bolton game, and while there was a reluctance from the corner to get involved in all the singing eminating from the Kop, this didn't seem any worse than the other non-Kop areas. As vocal as the South Stand for example.

Fair enough, I've sat in there twice this season, once against the Invincibles (Walsall) and once against Brizzle Rovers. Probably chose the wrong matches haha! Spent most of the games in the kop for a good old singalong!

As I usually have 2 junior blades with me, we go towards the front of the kop John St side if we go on there, found the atmosphere there pretty flat to be honest.

FFS an alien space ship has landed in the Kop/John St corner and all you lot can do is talk about pies and saussage rolls.

This is such scoop it may be too big even for a massive publication like the Sheffield Star. Maybe we need a Pulitzer prize winning big hitter like......er.......Martin Samuels?

Aliens heard about the balti pies and decided they just had to try one.
But they got there just after half time and shop had closed already.

I am up there on Satdi with my dad and one of the mini monkeys.
Is the entrance for Westfield upper corner to the left of the hotel?
Cheers

No it's further down Bramall Lane.

It says "AWAY FANS ONLY" over the turnstile but don't let some jobsworth steward tell you what to do.
I'm not sure about that ISC. We tried to get through the wrong turnstiles a couple of weeks ago and I seem to remember looking up and seeing the "AWAY FANS ONLY" sign, and feeling daft. Westfield turnstiles are just down from entrance to Upper tier which is nearer to the hotel I think.

A common location of my good self, at least partly because I don't have a season ticket, and it suits me fine

I can't believe how small the kop seats seemed after having to slum it on there a few weeks back for the first time in ages. I suppose somebody's going to tell me they are all the same size throughout the ground?

I used to have my season ticket in the Bramall Lane Upper, as it was unallocated seating and a great view. A few of us got them so we didn't have to dick about making sure our seats were together.

I may have been a little tinker and my information may not have been 100% correct.

People who eat pies at football matches should be thrown out.

I was just about to post something similar. Why not get something in a restaurant or pub? Even a burger van is a better choice (at least it's likely to be cooked by someone who has experience of cooking the thing they are selling).

Besides, if you all stop eating pies there'll be more room/people to serve us functioning alcoholics who like a beer on a Saturday afternoon ;)

Because, A, pubs are for drinking in on matchday not for eating, tables selfishly take up much needed drinking space!! You "functioning alcoholics" obviously arent to good at being "alcoholics" afterall!!
B, children are a different entity and want something to eat or drink at stupid times, especially during a couple of hour visit to a football ground.
C, I'm not sure I want to be up all night with said child, as he sits with his head in a bucket on the shithouse getting rid of the food previously purchased, at great cost, from a greasy box next to the road. Ever wondered why you never see roadkill on the streets of Sheffield!!?!! Yum!!. :p;)
